The Galactic Campaign Guide!

The GCG is out!

On the surface, this book answers every question I have seen from new GM's..

The first 80 pages or so cover game mechanics exclusively.. I think if you have a campaign question, and it isn't covered here, you must be playing a CCG instead

But wait, for those of you who say, I'm already an experienced GM, I don't need this..There is a wealth of in-universe material..

It has a section on simple life in the GFFA, sections on the hiearchies of various organizations, and my favorite, an entire section that covers the meanings behind different race's names..

For instance, who knew Wicket meant "an inquisitive spirit" in Ewokian?

or Ackbar means "selfless servent" in Mon Calamari?

Great Stuff....

 

That book rocks. The random naming tables alone are worth the price.

 

i picked it up not that long ago.....
i have been doing this GMing thing forever and i still find it helpful
i like anything that speeds up gameplay and adds flavor

i think the names alone make the book worthwhile. now all they need are a few more web enhancements that cover other species names.

The bookstore I usually go to only got it in Sat...

They are usually up to date on those things....

 

Wizards had them on sale at GenCon Indy back in July. Which is where a lot of people grabbed copies (myself included).

Is this worth picking up? I was looking at it and moderately impressed.

i found a copy for $10.00 US, and find it slightly to moderately useful. i wouldn't pay much more than that, though. the list of names by species is nice, but it's the most useful thing in the book unless you're a newbie GM. it's mostly fluff if you already have sufficient experience in running an RPG to make all the helpful hints useful.
