Arista had been running for nearly three hours by the time she got the the base. "I have...to see the...cheif-of-state..." she said between breaths.

    Arista headed toward the door.

"I'm sorry but he's in a meeting right now."

"No...You don't understand. I...I must see him NOW."

"I can't let you in. If you'll just sit and wait..."

Arista ignored the man and burst into the office anyway. The cheif-of-state and two other men were sitting in the room.

    "Imperial...Imperial probe droids...in the city."

    Imperial Garrison

"Destroying the rebel base and all inside will do us no good if some survive to carry on the fight another day." Thane pointed out to the Commodore. "Our objective is to wipe out the ENTIRE insurrection."

Thane leaned back in his office chair and steepled his hands in front of him. "Let me know the moment your probots discover anything."

The smuggler prisoner was taken and interrogated for all the information he knew about the rebellion on Siji.

Agent Ky strapped on his leather boots. He sang a song to himself to keep his morale up. "Slice up their guts and poke out their eyes, leave 'em in the dust to feed to the flies. Their brains will rot and bones will break, cook their flesh and serve it with steak. That's what you do to a Rebel!" By know Agent Ky was done putting on his boots, and he turned toward the cupboard. He opened it, and inside were two, blindingly polished, blasters. Silver barrels, black gripping, it was a set of truly beautiful weapons. Adding to it's lethality was a scope on each one, enabling long range blaster fire. Inserting each one to his utility belt and concealing it with a robe, Ky made his way toward the exit of his room. He was to be a "contributer" to the rebel alliance. A rich and respected mine owner. Such importance would definitly give him access to important and valuable information. High, ridiculously high risk, but that information would prove invaluable. He entered the garrison which housed Brig. Gen. Thane. Clearing his throat, Ky began, "Sir, I request a standard speeder, with concealed weapons, so that I might have quicker means of transportation. I mean to make for my destination immediately."

"You do not need to come to me and ask for that, Agent Ky." Thane said, annoyed and not looking up from the datapad and flimsisheets on his desk. "Just go down to the motor pool and order one of the techs to prepare whatever you want."

"While conflict with the Empire is inevitable, perhaps I could make the event less painful for us. As you know, I have been running a stream of weapons, munitions, and equipment to this planet under the cover of multiple shell companies and free trade. I believe that I could maintain this lifeline for an adaquate period of time before the army is assembled. The Imperial's attention has been drawn away from these activities and suspicion placed on the shoulders of small-time smugglers who have no association with our movement. I also have a plan as to how we can eliminate the Imperial presence on this world and keep them running, and would only require..."

He was cut off mid-sentence by a woman bursting through the door, saying something about probe droids.

I think I'll add the first twist.

General Thane had just granted permission to an agent to use a speeder bike. The Agent left the room and Thane went back to his data pad. A few moments past before the window next to Thane shattered. He fell to the floor to avoid the flying glass. Thane waited until the danger seemed to pass, and raised himself from the ground. He looked around to see what had caused the shattered window and saw 5 darts sticking into the chair he was sitting in. One had a note attached to it. In green ink it read:

This was just a warning, next time it will be fatal. You will not know when we will strike next, but you won't expect it.

    The Ghosts

Thane looked out the window and scanned the nearby forest, he didn't see anything.

Ultima_1, I am slightly confused. Would you like a position as a Commando type unit or one in fleet command? ?[face_plain] [face_blush]

The Chief of State was most interested in Jor Draka's suggested strategy and was about to ask him for the details when someone came in. When Arista burst into his office to warn him about the probe droids, Androlk Reahl became deeply concerned. He completely disregarded all other tasks and duties. "They must not be alerted to our presence. Put the call out for our members to be on high-alert. No risks are to be taken and no suspicious activities to be conducted. The probe droids will find nothing but a smoothly running planet, without any Rebel connections."

"Sir, the probe driods has found.. nothing"

Deci looked thruw the window at the planet.
"So, all that we have is one smuggler that know.. well, nothing I presume".

The officer answered unsure of what the Commander realy wanted.
    "no, the interrigations have.."

Deci raised a hand and the officer closed his mouth.

"I know how to make those rebells flee out of their womp-rat holes. raise the taxes in all the cities, no one is allowed to go outside after the sun has gone down.
Anyone that does that, shall be killed.
Increese Imperial activity in all the cities.
Send down our divisions (about 18.000 troops)
To see to it that the new laws are obayed"

The officer stood silent for a while and then spoke.
"but won´t this make more people join the rebellion?"

    Deci smiled to himselfe.

"Oh yes it will, many will join this rebellion. But when more join, the bigger risk is that we will find out. And, we do have an VSD that can bombard any form of rebell base. And, while we are at it. Set a bounty for any captured rebell.. lets say.. 5000 Credits. The empire can afford this".

The officer nodded and made the orders happend.
Soon the streets layed empty after sun-down.
Storm Troopers and Probe droids patroled the streets while AT-ST´s slowly trampeled the ground.
And the bounty made every rebell think twise about speak about the rebellion.

"Yes sir. I'll leave right away sir." Agent Ky spoke with a hint of anger at the generals annoyance. He strode toward the motor pool picked out his own speeder (a nice one with a hidden sniper in the storage bay) and after recieving his rations set out immediately. For 5 hours he spent riding on his speeder bike through the lush vegatation planet of Siji. When he arrived he noticed he was very muddy. He was stopped by a squad of stormtroopers. "You! Get him!" Agent Ky turned at the voice slightly amused. One of the stormtroopers roughly pushed him. "Come on, to the extermination room with you." Ky pushed him off, and before they could react, he flicked a holopad out showing his rank, name, buisiness, where he was currently stationed, etc. The troopers gave a quick gasp and immediately fell into a quick salute. The one who had roughed Ky dropped his gun on accident. "What's your I.D. number, Trooper?" Ky asked with a kind voice. "# 129405, sir." the trooper said in a wary voice. "Well Mr. 129405, I'm sending a report about you to Brig. Gen. Thane. You can consider yourself demoted." The trooper stood straight, it's expression hidden by the helmet. "Take me to your nearest garrison. I need a shower. After that, I need to see a Rebel...."

Miin Bodenna was alarmed when he heard of the taxation and increasment of Imperial activity on Siji. Though Miin was an Imperial that would obey orders without hesitiation. He did not see the logic in doing this, all's it would acomplish would be as proporganda for the Rebels. The Commodore must have something up his sleave, was the only thing that came to his mind.

He sat in his quarters in orbit around Siji in his Imperial Star Destroyer Mark II. Then his comlink buzzed, "Sir, we have an incoming frieghter that isn't responding. It look's like he's going to try to make a run for the planet."

"Launch Alpha squadron, tell them to take out the engines of it."

    Imperial Garrison - Siji

"He did what?" General Thane exclaimed after listening to a report from one of his aides.

"He's sending down his divisions and ordered for an increase in tax and declared marshal law on the planet." The aide repeated herself while a forensics team carefully plucked the five darts out from the General's chair. The window was replaced and Thane had planned on having his desk moved to a place in the room where he wouldn't be exposed to the window.

"That imbecile!" He shouted and the two forensics officers glanced up at him curiously before returning to their work. "What does he think this will accomplish?"

"Reveal the rebel base, apparently." The aide answered.

"Sithspawn, he won't reveal the rebel base." Thane said, pacing in his office angrily. "He's going to end up making the rebellion larger then it already is and causing this planet to forswear loyalty to the Empire! What the hell did he think he was doing?!"

"Shall I inform the Governor not to proceed with these orders?"

"And remind the Governor that the Commodore has no jurisdiction on this planet." Thane paused and looked thoughtful. "Though keep the marshal law in place, but instead of executing the people have them detained for a couple nights and questioned."

"General." One of the forsenics officers called and Thane turned to the man. "The darts were tipped with poison sir. If the weapon itself didn't kill you the poison would have."

Gravely he replied: "Find these Ghosts and kill them. And Shala, remind the Commodore also that his job is to defend this planet from foreign aggressors not to create chaos on the planet."

The aide nodded and left the General to follow his orders. Soon the Governor was informed not to obey the orders recently given by the Commodore. There would be no increase in tax and the soldiers sent down would be placed on Thane's command and the marshal law would continue.

"HaHAAAA! This is great... excellent... perfect. Just what we needed!" Jor Draka was exuberant when news of the new Imperial laws reached him. He told his secretary, one of the few people employed to him who knew of his rebel sympathies, to send a message to the Chief of State.

"Have the message delivered by hand, and preferrably through a regular mail carrier, not by one of our own. I don't want any suspicious stormtrooperspicking up one of our people on the streets and finding the message. They will be less likely, and as far as we can tell, don't have the manpower to check each and every message. Oh, and make it sound like a regular business letter, do your code trick thingy.

Send this: It would be beneficial to our movement if we were to use the state of martial law agaist the oppressors. I suggest sending word to our agents, contacts and members, that they are to each select an person who has no ties to us and is Imperial in their loyalties, and to turn that person in to the officials under the suspicion that they are a Rebel spy or sympathizer. We will run the Imperial treasuries in this region dry with the reward money which we collect, and overfill their jails with their own supporters. This will also turn more hearts on to our cause, will distract the military police with the deluge of suspects, and keep their jails filled past the maximum. The confusion will benefit our cause, monetarily and in terms of members, and weaken the Imperial holding on this world."

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

When the message from Jor Draka reached the Chief of State, the man knew that the Rebels would be able to fight back in the best way possible, indirectly. Androlk Reahl soon put the plans into action and sent Jor Draka a commendation for his efforts.

Word was sent to all Rebel Alliance agents, operatives and allies. They located Imperial loyalysts with no Rebel ties and began to pre-fabricate connections. Scores of Imperial spies and sympathisers were framed as Rebel Agents. There was no way to prove otherwise, as the Alliance had established a credible connection from themselves to the suspects' acts on Siji. The real Rebels would collect the reward while the Empire stuck at its own supporters.

Miin sat on his flagship as the freighter was pulled into the hangar of the Imperial Star Destroyer. "I would like to inspect the ship, Erines." Miin told his second in command.

"I'll have it aranged M'Lord." Miin, with his escort of Stormtroopers headed down to the hangar. The freighter looked like something that was created at a scrapyard. The stormtroopers entered the freighter first, and came out to say that everything was ok. Miin went to the cargo hold, and opened the first crate. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He opened the next, then another, until all the crates were open.

There was enough weapons to run a small Empire. There were blaster-rifles, Thermal Detonators, High-Explosives, Armor, Sniper Rifles. And one thing that caught the eye of Miin Bodenna. There were several high-poison darts that had been used in the assassination attempts on General Thane.

"Send these this ship and everything in it, along with the pilots to the Imperial Garison." Miin told the Ensing behind him, "They might be able to tell us something about the Ghosts.

"An award?" The Imperial officer glanced at the man who had turned in what appeared to be a rebel sympathizer. "I do not recall ever hearing about an award given out to the capture or lead to the capture of rebels."

He took the moment to search the databank from the terminal before him. After a couple minutes he shook his head and lifted his gaze to the man. "I'm sorry there is no award except our gratitude for your help and loyality."

Gregory Thane looked over the poisoned dart recovered from a freighter that was recently captured. "What does the crew of that ship have for an explaination?"

He asked the Intelligence officer who had been busy moments ago interrogating the crew. "They are not talking."

"Really?" Thane set the dart down and looked at the man. "You haven't resorted to torture yet?"

    "No, sir."

"Proceed then. I want to know everything about these Ghosts from them." Thane commanded just as another Intelligence officer approached.

    "Sir."

    "What is it?"

"There is something strange going on." He replied. "Several Siji citizens that were once thought to be loyal to the Empire have been arrested for treason. We checked just about everything and well, there is evidence that convicts them as rebels."

    "And?"

"It is odd that these loyalists would suddenly have a clean background one moment and then all of a sudden have ties with the rebellion. The strangest part is that we are suddenly getting anonymous tips and people directly bringing them in. They also believe that there is an award posted for the apprehension of the rebels."

"Very intriguing indeed." Thane rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Anonymous tips? Hmm."

OOC: I hope the benevolent GM doesn't mind if my character takes a short vacation away from Siji for a couple of days?

Jor Draka watched the last of the crates loaded into the gallofree transports. Fourty-seven loads of robotic pets and nerf feed would go on to the Allied Tion, while twenty-six crates of reprocessed meat would go to Barab I, and a hundred and thirty loads of scrap metal would soon reach Ylesia, and then he could return to Siji with another shipment of goods for the movement.

Desipite the events which were taking place, business was business and goods had to be delivered to the consumers. The sun would soon reach the horizon, and leaving the planet would be difficult enough even during the day, so the alien hurried up his crews before rushing back to his own ship to request clearance to leave the planet. At least this time his holds were clean of any incriminating evidence.

I just hope the Chief of State recieved my message that I would be away for a while...

His pilot informed him that they had reached the Imperial blockade, and that it was time to request clearance to leave the planet. He sent the typical formal request for departure, with crew manifest, cargo lists, and destination information, then waited for permission to leave.

    Or so you think Ultima! Hugs his AT-AT and infrared technology 8-}

"Alert the starships to prepare to capture any escaping rebel ships and deploy our ground forces to take those locations." Gregory Thane commanded and the men dragged the rebel back to a cell and inform the Commodore.

Meanwhile the entire garrison was a buzz with activity as Imperial forces grouped together and prepared to assault the rebel base and storage facility. Gregory Thane commanded.

Imperial meterologists had informed the General that the storage facility had a blizzard and the chances of the rebels trying to escape from there right away would be slim. So Thane opted to attack the rebel face first with an Imperial Sweep. It was a stratigic attack first created by General Veers and used several times successfully. Especially at the Battle of Hoth.

The first wave would consist of several speederbikes as the Biker Scouts reported in the locations of enemy forces and identify the defenses. They would also jam communications to prevent the rebels from coordinating easily. The speederbikes would never engage any of the rebels and if things got too hot for them they would hide and wait until the second wave of forces arrived.

The second wave would consist of AT-STs, AT-PTs, AT-AA artillery, Chariot LAVs and hordes of stormtroopers. This wave would directly engage the rebel forces and keep them busy for the final wave of AT-ATs.

The third wave would consist of AT-AT Imperial Walkers that would come in and decimate the rebel defenses with their firepower and frightening size.

General Thane commanded the lead Walker as his forces marched forth toward the rebel base. "Send in the scouts." He commanded and military speederbikes zipped ahead.

The speederbikes soon came to the rebel base and began reporting their find, avoiding engaging the rebel forces.
