JCC The Galaxy Quest Journey Continues

A Galaxy Quest TV series is in the works at Paramount.

 

I'm sad to announce my high level of apathy about this but well, here we are.

I think I missed the boat on the whole Galaxy Quest thing. I remember having seen the movie, but I remember being unimpressed with it more. Maybe I need to see it again.

 

I'm intrigued enough to give this a chance, but will I be surprised if this turns out to be terrible? No.

 

Yes. You need to see Galaxy Quest again. It's a really funny movie.

And if they manage to get Tim Allen involved somehow than a Galaxy Quest series has the potentially to be pretty funny.

 

This wil be awful. And I like the film.

 

Will it be a tv show based on the events of the movie?

Or are they going to make an actual "Galaxy Quest" tv show, based on the tv show in the movie?

 

They already did, it's called Star Trek.

 

Yeah, that was whole premise of Galaxy Quest, niave aliens mistake a bunch of has been actors for an elite starship crew and hilarity ensues.

A galaxy quest TV series instead of a new Star Trek series? The F*#k?

Galaxy Quest is a goddamn parody of Star Trek and there making a TV series out of it. It makes no goddamn sense.

I thought they wanted to make a second movie.

 

The irony will be complete if they adapt it into a serious sci fi serial tv drama. Then 25 years from now they can create a feature film parody of the Galaxy Quest tv series and call it "Star Trek." On the plus side, by then I may well be dead.

 

Tim Allen will need a new catchphrase. I suggest, "To infinity and beyond!"

 

I've heard they talked about a sequel. I've read that Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver both said that they were on board for Galaxy Quest 2, but the studio never really pursued it seriously. It's nice to see they're thinking of doing something with Galaxy Quest again.

 

I'll give it a shot...probably better than a lot of the crap on TV lately.

 

Something I've wanted for years is a Galaxy Quest commentary track by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. It's not too late for the Shat!

 

That reminds of a thought occurred to me when I first read this. It could potentially be funny if they gave cameos to some of the Star Trek actors.
