Sheesh, there's so many cobwebs in this place it's hard to find your way around.

So... anything new while I was MIA? For months... :p

Since he's three weeks early, he's till in the hospital. Maulfly was discharged last Friday, but they have a program that since baby is still considered a patient, mommy gets to stay in the hospital too.

If all goes well, he should be home in a few days.

I've been keeping up on Facebook but adding my congrats here as well, and I'm glad he'll get to go home soon. I wasn't sure how preemie he was.

Three weeks isn't that preemie, unless he had a low birth weight. My daughter was 4 to 5 weeks 'preemie,' but she weighed almost 6 pounds. The only problem she had the first day after she was born was that her lungs were having a little trouble adjusting and she had to be on a respirator her first few hours of life on the outside.

I hope Strife and Maulfly's little miracle is healthy and goes home soon!

I am very busy at work today.

SO he decided at about 8 last night he had enough of the feeding tube and yanked the sucker out. He seems more relaxed now so the RNs and doctors decided to keep it out and see how he does. He's eaten everything he's been given since then.

Hoping we can get him home soon (but not too soon, as daddy has come down with a nasty cold)

Get well, soon, daddy! So he pulled his feeding tube out? Strong little tyke, isn't he? He's cute, at least what I can see of him in that photo. :)

question that will affect him for THE REST OF HIS LIFE:

Circumcised or no? I was, but I have no opinion either way on the matter. Neither does the medical community, I asked the doctors :p

Don't do it!!! I didn't have my son circumcised and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's based on an old Egyptian myth regarding seeing snakes shed their skins and figuring that had something to do with immortality, so they cut of the skin of the body part that resembled a snake. (Gosh, it's hard to write on this subject with 13-yr-olds in mind so you dont' totally shock them, I mean).

I say no, simply because if he wants it done, he can have it done later.

If he wants it undone, it will be much harder, and he might make a thread on the JC about it.

I don't buy all the crap about "medical benefits" to circumcision; it's not commonly done outside the US, Canada and the Middle East, and it's not like men's penises are all falling off everywhere else.

    I don't think circumcision is wrong, I just don't think it's necessary.

I don't think it's wrong, either, but give the little guy a choice. It's like having a tattoo or a body piercing, he can have it done later if he wants to.

To snip, or not to snip. That is the question.

    D-G,

No, no, no!!! Snipping refers to a vasectomy, not a circumsion.

Something down there is getting cut off so snip, snip, snip still applies. :p
