JCC The Geriatric Ward, Epsiode VI - Return of the Green Jello

I've should have checked in this ward years ago is I don't care much about pop music, the latest clothing trends or what the latest social media app is.

I have knee problems and have to eat more healthy.

On the plus side, with my grey hairs starting to show, I don't feel as bad sitting in spots reserved for old people on the train ride home. Although, if there was some one older than me that needed that seat I would gladly get up and give it to them.

 

you should have checked in years ago because that's when it was last active.

 

The Ward lives!

 

*Immediately shuffles in to find her old room...the one with the hole knocked into the wall that led to Strife's room...and hops into her comforter. This action unfortunately causes a huge cloud of dust to poof into the air.*

So where's my stash of Hershey's Kisses...

 

Yeah and is worried that social security won't be around when it's time to retire.

I've turned into the old person that says, "back in my, we..."

 

*installs a gaming rig into her room*

Do you live here, @Sith_Sensei__Prime? I can hardly remember, but then again I've been off my meds for a while now. The room on the other side of Strife's seems free now, but it's giving off an awful stench when you pass by.

Apparently the former inhabitant was banned from the nursing home and shipped off to who knows where.

 

Nope, I never officially checked and lived in the ward. I was probably in denial that father time was stripping away my youth. But I can longer deny that now, as I find a California winter bone chilling and I really like hot soup.

I think anyone around 27 or younger as kids.

A few years ago, I watched Animal House and I thought the kids in those films were slackers and jerks as oppose to when I was a kid and thought they were really cool guys that defied authorities and squares.

 

35 and younger are kids.

 

I swear the kids are getting older every year!

Hmmmm....hot soup sounds good...but not too hot! Might burn myself...

*Finds the chocolate stash in her old recliner. Gets comfortable and waits for someone to come by within reach of her cane.*

I like adding some habanero sauce or some fresh ghost pepper.

 

Oh hiiii...I have a room here. Ironic, now that my life is consumed with oldness...just left the hospital where I left one, brought one home and fed and medicated it. 36 hour day,ya'll.

 

Mmm....I've started dabbling with the habanero sauce, myself. Nice to have something that adds heat and kick without jacking up the overall flavor of what you're eating.

That's a very long "day", @mrsvos. Get some rest when you can and take care of yourself.

 

Since it's too cold to have some ice cream, I might have some green jello today.

 

Green jello with habanero sauce?! You have dementia.

 

It's all part of getting old.

 

*half functional nurse-bot rolls in and tosses green jello cups in random directions, one bouncing off of Sith_Sensei_Prime's head before it issues an electronic squeal and then rolls back out just as suddenly as it came*

But you're right, it is too cold. *buries herself deeper into her comforter while sitting on the recliner*

 

Cold it is. 17°F(-8°C) here it is.

 

Yuck. Might be interesting to experience that once to see how it is, but wouldn't want hours, much less potentially days of it. Not as cold here, of course, but it's already been an unusual winter in that we've seen it snow (at all) twice now. Overnight freezing weather is back, but hopefully we shouldn't have to deal with much if any ice this time.
