Keep going at that rate, we'll run out of members just from attrition and OLD old age! Course what do I care, I make the cut either way.

Those that weren't so good probably got lost in the Morgue...or just walks out the front door. ...same difference.

One of my geriatrics refuses to take her pills. She tries to palm them, pretends to take them, wraps them in tissues, tries to pocket them...ugh.

 

*startles awake from her nap*

Wasn't MY fault you all let me kill the thread! Geriatric Ward or not, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be thrilled if I just sat here and talked to myself.

*tosses a hard candy to @Ananta Chetan to practice her aim*

That's gotta be frustrating, @mrsvos. Whomever's issuing out the meds has to stand there and watch that they actually take it before they can continue their rounds, huh?

 

*puts on her headset to play one of her computer games while the two eye each other*

 

I know I'm getting older when I have to google new slang or acronyms. "It's lit" was something I didn't pick up right away.

 

The power is out and I need light so the candle is lit.

 

Lit didn't take too long to figure out (and I even avoided setting anything on fire, too). When I heard my Millennial co-worker say "that's so Gucci" I realized how behind on the new slang I was.

 

*slowly puts down torch*

Yeah, I suspect as our little one gets older, we'll start picking up odd bits here and there from him.

I'm enjoying the winter, I never even wear winter clothes and keep complaining about the heater setting in the house. I'm still traumatized from when we had no power after the hurricane.

 

How long were you out of power, @mrsvos?

 

Ewww! Oh that's horrible!

I remember one summer here in Texas that was a record breaker (number of 100+F days in a row) and power outages. Very unpleasant, to say the least. And dangerous, too. You'll hear about people hospitalized or killed from the heat.

I hope they're able to keep the power up and running more steadily for you all.
