OK...I've been away for a while and some newbies have appeared and some oldies have dropped off, so I thought we should have a little "Getting to know you" seesion....

Fave SW Movie: Ep2 is fast moving up the chain, but Empire is still No1.

Fave non-SW movie: Robocop

What got you into SW?: A friend at High school told me about this great movie he'd heard about that had real robots in it, then he suggested we both go to the premier...the rest is history.

Fave Character(s): Darth Vader & R2-D2.

Fave SW Book(s): Any of the Zahn Books.
Stackpole is my Fav' author as far as being a really great guy and being fun to talk to, but Timothy Zahn wins in the writting stakes.

Fave SW Moment (s): Touring Skywalker Ranch in 1998, being at the Queensland premier of Star Wars Special Edition.

What got you into SW?: When I was sick in the 1st grade, my Mom brought me home ANH on Video cassete and a happy meal. From that moment, I've been addicted to McDonalds, er I mean Star Wars.

Fave Character(s): Darth Vader, Palpatine.

Fave SW Book(s): I really only like the EU that comes before ROTJ, although I did enjoy the Thrawn and Jedi Academy books. My favourites are Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina (Very neat idea for a book) and secondly Shadows of the Empire (I love Steve Perry's portrayal of Vader in this book. It's a shame he doesn't write Star Wars anymor)e.

Fave SW Moment: Buying my first Star Wars figure (Luke Skywalker, in 1995. Also going on the Star Tours ride at Disneyland.

What got you into SW?: Getting X-Wing as a birthday present...I was completely hooked after playing the first few missions and I haven't stopped.

Fave Character(s): Han Solo and Nute Gunray...he's just plain funny in AOTC

Fave SW Book(s): The X-Wing series is still my fav, but I haven't read nearly enough to make a serious judgement.

What got you into SW? My dad (bless his soul) he made me watch ANH and bought me Vader and C3PO for my birthday a long long time ago. Has since regretted his decision many times and has tried to have me disowned.

What got you into SW?: A friend talked me into going to ESB special edition. Then, when I heard about TPM, I began reading the books. The rest, as they say, is history.

Fave SW Book(s): All the Zahn and Anderson books, but my fave would have to be 'I, Jedi'.

What got you into SW?: I had a fascination for the movies, when at age 7 my aunt bought me 'Heir to the Empire' by Tim Zahn...'tis now an unhealthy obsession.

Fave Character(s): Palpatine (By far) and then Thrawn.

Fave SW Book(s): All of TTT, and probably Star by Star by Troy Denning. (BFC was also top stuff!)

Fave SW Moment: Anakin Solo's final, tear-wrenching stand against the forces of evil....(cries) and in RL (ahem) probably when Jet-Eye and I founded the Mandalore Dump...in the Lit Forum, much to the disgust of the oldbies floating around in there!


Oh, and to LVFF, I too was a committed fan to Laugh Radio, sad it couldn't continue to flourish as it should of.

Yes I am THAT Chris Brennan of Laugh Radio and I too was as Mad as Hell when we didn't get a licence.

The three available licences went to

Christians, Gays, and Aboriginal Radio.

Sheesh talk about playing up to the equal rights people.

 

Damn them, DAWN THEM ALL TO HELL!!! except the chirstians, but they dont need a radio station and why do gays now need a station. Laugh radio was one of a kind. It was the only thing (except STAR WARS ) that could get me up early in the morning. how i miss you my beloved laugh radio!!!

Asking Zahn at Force 3 if Mara having a go at Luke about Jedi training techniques in SOTP, was really Zahn having a go at Kevin Anderson - and having a LONG pause before his carefully worded diplomatic answer.

Fave SW books: The Daley Han Solo trilogy. The rest of the EU has been a big disappointment yet, like the pathetic fangirl I am, I keep reading. Fanfiction on the other hand... Now that's where the really good (see in character!)stories are!

Fave SW moment: Logging On for the first time in Nov. '99 and discovering I was not alone! Suddenly finding an audience for my fics and pics.
