Yes, I do try. *ponders resurrecting "party threads" but holds off for now* I'm too wired on caf atm.

Is there an official History of the JC? If so, was the Great Basher/Slacker Exodus the end of the Second Golden Age or the Third?
I'm the "barman," Commander Antilles. When I'm not around, it's serve yourself, or hail one of the droids. Well, I agree Pyrus, I made a thread called "N.E.W.B.I.E. and newbie: a distinction" in summer of '99, and credited your acronym as: Non Enlightened Weirdo Babbling Insults at Everyone Is that how you originally wrote it? Jabbadabbado, there hasn't been a comprehensive history of the JC made; Paul made one that went up to the first trailer in Nov. 98. And there's only been one Golden Age. It ended in late spring-May '99. That's not to invalidate the numerous great times since then, but the Golden Age was a time of a small community of members who cared about the integrity of that community. When TPM came out, the community ceased to be and was replaced by several cliques, and the term "golden age" became relative to the good times of the respective cliques. A distinctive marker of the Golden Age that has sadly not been replicated since: conflicts between member and admin were solved quickly and without lingering resentment.
I'm just in an odd mood for sharing song lyrics. I've sent my poor friend on AIM about 6 or 7 songs, I think. **** When I get older, losing my hair Many years from now Will you still be sending me a valentine? Birthday greetings, bottle of wine? If I'd been out 'till quarter to three Would you'd lock the door? Will you still need me? Will you still feed me? When I'm sixty-four You'll be older too And if you say the word I could stay with you I could be handy mending a fuse When you're lights have gone You can knit a sweater by the fireside Sunday mornings go for a ride Doing the garden, digging the weeds Who could ask for more? Will you still need me? Will you still feed me? When I'm sixty-four Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight If it's not too dear We shall scrimp and save Grandchildren on your knee Vera, Chuck, and Dave Send me a postcard, drop me a line Stating point of view Indicate precisely what you mean to say Yours sincerely, wasting away Give me your answer, fill in a form Mine forever more Will you still need me? Will you still feed me? When I'm sixty-four **** That was rather random, wasn't it? I think they'd make good wedding vows. LOL
One word: pants. A few more words: Man, I need to stick around on the weekends. SoK's cafes are hoppin' when I'm gone! Well, I'll have a pint o' Guinness and hum some Beatles tunes, I guess.
