Hmm, I can't see any suggestions in this thread, Dave.
Good banner but you need to remove the fringing around the people though as it sands out really badly.
You can do it easily in Photoshop by going to LAYER > MATTING > and then choosing one of the settings. You can also when you're cutting out use the FEATHER selection before you cut and set it to 1px
Just my 2p
Edit, you could also blend in the background pics to each other by selecting with the marquee tool and using the feather tool again (choose about 25px) then cutting and when you paste the pics they won't have that sharp edge
Yeah, thanks for the tips Nic, I'm doing those things as and when I get the time tbh, I just wanted to get something up for peeps to comment on. I didn't want to go through the hassle of blending mask's and layers if the guys didn't want to use the idea, Lazy git ain't I
After taking Nic's advice [link=http://www.taymar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ilinks.htm]here's[/link] the pretty version.
good stuff. alas i am utterly ***** at photoshop and so i can`t even attempt such things.
For the forum banners, you need to look at the ones in existance for sizing.
Basically the banners are made up of 3 parts, along with the icon that sits either side of the ad at the top.
You've got the main image, the background image, the left column image as well.
It's worth right-clicking and saving the main and left one, then right-click and save on the background image as well. The background needs to be connectable left to right, as the wider the screen the more times it repeats. Then the main image should sit over the top in such a way to blend into the background at their join point.
The left bar obviously needs to blend into the Main picture on that side.
i love it but do we have to have the Banks logo on it couldnt we go for a proper beer? also i love that im the only one in the archery pic because i do archery and used to be U15's County Champ! i give it a 9/10
I'm so glad you approve young David.
I have re-done it once again to the sizes I have for the exsiting banners, including the side bar, I'll have it up soon.
story of my life!!
It looks really good, Martin.
When you guys have your banner all set, make sure you host it independent of TFN, that way you can change it whenever you want.
i dont think we would change it very offen so how but thanks!
What if your chapter wanted to change the banner to reflect a special day, such as St. George's Day or maybe Christmas or something? What then? Wouldn't it be easier to handle if your webmaster had control? Why am I even wasting my breath? You won't be running it.
"Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?" ~ Kelly's Heroes
we could put that stuff in the banner already but your idea sounds better
it wouldn`t make us a laughing stock to have santa in the banner in july then dave?
not the way the world going now no! i mean people start getting ready for it again in march now-a-days! its stupid!
