    I seriously thought I would have written more :p These are amazing, Xany. They are really interesting. I actually decided to play Elora in less "grande" posts, leaving out my trademark inner thoughts and I think it totally translates into numbers. Than again, I actually felt I would have had more posts in 133 ABY, really.

    Anyway. You´re amazing XAN! [:D]

    *grin* Keep in mind though that these are absolute post/word counts - if you post an OOC note saying "Hey, I'm offline for a week, see you next Tuesday", it gets counted as 1 post and 10 words.

    I'm working on the average wordcount/post cruncher now. I can do it manually, but I'd much rather make my computer do it for me. :-B

    NOTE: I have sorted these graphs in descending order to make them easier to read, but you guys shouldn't take this as me passing judgement (favourable or otherwise) on long posts. This is just data - nothing more. Though it's cool data, I think. :D

    Just what my friend needs, hard evidence that I'm wordy... :p

    These are really fun, Xan!

    Not as wordy as I am and I actually shortened most of my posts because I thought they were too long to read, anyway. :p

    All right!

    The Graphs, Sins of the Saints Edition:

    Timeline
    <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/xany/SotS_timeline.jpg">

    Words Posted
    <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/xany/SotS_words_abs.jpg">

    Post Counts & Average Words Per Post
    <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/xany/SotS_posts_avg.jpg">

    Commentary

    The timeline shows a rather more even graph than most games have been, I think - there's the initial lag, then a spike as the game really kicks off, but then it continues at roughly that pace for the next few months. Not bad, not bad at all.

    Credit for that, I think, goes to Fins. He's halfway to winning NaNoWriMo there, which is not in itself noteworthy - his wordcount in Odyssey was over 100k :p - but the fact that his count is over 3 times that of the next guy is. From the graphs I've done in the past, GMs can double the word count of their most active player, easy, but tripling is quite the feat. It's not that Fins' individual posts are much longer than everyone else's, either, as the third graph shows - they're long, but not that long - it's that he posts a great deal more often.

    That's a great effort right there.

    (Some of you might notice I turned thresholding off for these. I usually have it set to only record players with >5 posts so graphs don't have a magnificently long tail of leavers, but here I think the full story paints a more interesting picture.)

    What else... a fun graph! Ever wondered what time of day you should post?

    <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/xany/SotS_24hr.jpg">

    During the day (in board time) looks best, though apparently if you post in the wee hours of the JC morning you'll still have company. I wonder how many of those posts are mine. :D

    Thanks Xany. That are some very interesting infos you unearthed. And with your commentary I actually agree.

    Fin´s dedication and awesomeness is now a statistic number :p

    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/xany/SotS_timeline.jpg]

    Wow, that is really a stable game. Even as we lost players I think it did not damage the game, as the story began to become more interesting we other began to post more. To get more info and learn how it went on. I guess all those spikes would tell us exactly when Fin and Anvil updated :p . . . anyway that makes one hope this game will really run as long as the GM hopes.

    Am I posting too much? I am posting too much. *goes figuring out his life*

    :D Thanks Xany! That are interesting numbers indeed. And I think my players updating every update I give them is they key to our stability. It mkaes writing so much fun and when it´s fun, I do a lot of it. So, really like in any games the credits go to my players!

    Found the easter egg . . . aaah! That one is spoilerific. Looks like we need a casting for Jacob Zinsky, soon.

    So, if anyone wants to know where to find it, please PM me. Wasn´t that hard, actually. Hehe.

    Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing more recent graphs of some games we've covered before. See what's changed.

    There is something that makes me deliriously happy about the fact there is a graph thread. Why that is, I don't know, because I was an English major...

    I'm also a big fan of maps, since we're on the topic of graphical representations of things. :)

    Maps are cool. Graphs are cooler. :D

    Next I'll look into getting updated graphs of games we've done before, as Ramz suggested. Maybe a side-by-side comparison. Stay tuned, again.

    Much obliged, Ramz. :D

    I'm working on a new version of the grapher as we speak which should be able to do more sophisticated things (I'm thinking timeline breakdowns by author, say). But the old version isn't broken, so to get us going again, here's an oldie-but-goodie:

    Timeline: A Tide Of Flames
    [image=https://sites.google.com/site/xanify/files/ToF_timeline.png]

    (Yes: in the two-odd years since the last graph, I have gotten better at Excel :p)

    These are the cumulative posts per month, because ToF has simply been running too long for daily totals to make sense. It's pretty neat. Activity in there has ebbed and flowed throughout the months, but we always keep comin' back. It's a testament to Saintheart and LightWarden's GMing that it's survived so long and through so many player changes (only three remain out of the original eight).

    Also taking requests, so if there's anything you'd like to see, speak up... :D

    How bout Intervention?

    [image=https://sites.google.com/site/xanify/files/Intervention_timeline.png]

    A very steady game. Looks like Bravo and gang were trucking along at a reasonable clip until things really took off in early 2010. It'll be fascinating to see what the next instalment will look like.

    That is pretty cool seeing Intervention like that, I can literally look at the graph and say - that low point was when we were three.

    The high, these be the times were I find it insanity to keep up even as a third string assistant GM to read everything...also are the time where I solicite no-body because I can barely see with the other games I play.[face_talk_hand]

    Welcome back Xany, great to see this place LIVE AGAIN!

    Ahem, congrats I mean=D=
