If I remember Admiral Zaarin, from the last TIE Fighter mission, your Star Destroyer was the Glory???

Imagine my surpise when I came back from NYC tonight (Big East Tourney. . . . Go Huskies) and find this post completely out of control.

So many newbies. Prepare to be Vongified.

The problem with Newbies is that they ask stupid or redundant qeustions, and that most can't readily figure out the Abreviations we use as JC lit forum jargon.

But I don't understand why oldies have disdain for newbies. They shouldn't be too upset over the younger whippersnappers' simple questions. Afterall it should give them the oppurtunity to impress said newbie with the depth of their knowledge and passion for all things SW.
How is a boost to your ego a bad thing?

Furthermore there are no stupid or redundant questions only stupid and redundant people who don't answer those questions.
It's just plain logic...how is a newbie supposed to know if a topic has been posted before or is simply answered? They only know that they don't know, and that they need to ask those that do know for the information they lack.

Ignorance is not a flaw, the failure to enlighten the ignorant is though.

I've compiled a list of common abbreviations here:
    EU Abbreviations
Feel free to just link to it whenever someone asks a related question.

That's a great list. I generally could figure most of the abbreviates out except for GFFA and TTT.

Thanks for the comments. Glad I could be of some help around here. Some of the abbreviations can be tricky. I learned several myself when compiling the list.
