OK, I've had a crazy idea - we have a thread on all the themes in the SW movies and who they stand for... now let's catologue where they all are in each movie.

Note: Please use the UE for TPM, the AOTC soundtrack (duh) for AOTC, and the Special Edition soundtracks for the Classic Trilogy.

 

Sounds like an awesome idea. What theme/s should be catalogued first?

Apparently there are some other themes - Han solo, and the Droid theme. But I a) don't know how they go, and b) don't know where they are.

and 'Main Title' = original Luke's theme?

I listened to where you said "Han's Theme" was and it's just the Han and Leia Love Theme. So is it also called Han's Theme, or is the guy who wrote the liner notes insane?

 

I think he's insane.

No. Without him, we would not have gotten the SE CDs or the Superman expanded 2-CD set. And those liner notes are very well-written and informative. Who cares if he calls the love theme Han's theme when he's given us so much?

 

But it's more fun to call someone insane!

S'alright, sorry if I sounded rude, I was 100% not trying to be.

But yah, the general populace here knows stuff like that and how Augies Municipal Band is really the Emperor's Theme and stuff.

Most of us, at least.

 

I think another place where the liner notes (for TESB Special Ed) are insane is for track 5, the Hoth battle stuff. The melody identified as "Leia's Theme" (at 6:17, as pointed out by HanSolo29, and a couple other times) is, I argue, not Leia's theme. This is music for the AT-AT's and has nothing to do with Leia, and besides it's a different mini-theme. Listen also at 4:30 & 7:24 on the same track. I call this the "Battle in the Snow" theme, because that's what the track was called on the original soundtrack. This is a pet peeve of mine.

If no one else posts more, I'll add stuff from the rest of ESB, and from TPM (I don't have the other SE soundtracks or AOTC yet).

 

Well, I tried AOTC. My CD doesn't have the bonus track, though. I'm not sure about some of them. I'm also almost finished with ANH.
