So, I started learning how to knit last night... ...and all I could think was "I wonder how long it would take to make a good-looking Ravenclaw scarf." Good lord...

 

I started learning to knit a few months ago, Kre. Gryffindor scarf v.01 has been coming along nicely, but is just practice for the one that will look good.

 

i suppose i better teach jess to knit next time i am there since i promised her and i know she wanted her scarf eons ago.

i didn't knit mine. i found it and the matching hat on ebay. uk items my BEST xmas present last year!

oh and for the record:

and who says we like wholy evil people? myself, i prefer evil with goodness burried deep inside. it's far more interesting and realistic. honestly the absolute BEST thing to me would be draco and harry being thrown into something HUGE at the end and being forced to help one another and thus becoming friends. most people aren't purely evil. just misunderstood. ok maybe not most, some. draco wouldn't be that way if his father wasn't the way he was. he was taught to be cruel. i believe he will redeem himself in the end.

 

I think good and evil all mixed up is far more interesting that just saying that ALL Slytherins are evil, and ALL Gryffindors are brave, loyal weenies( ) and ALL Ravenclaws are smart, and ALL Hufflepuffs are hard workers. In the end, it will come down to people choosing their sides: Dark or Light. Someone will be betrayed by a Gryffindor, Slytherins will help defeat evil, Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs will be important to both sides, and Neville Longbottom will save the day, because the prophesy was really about him.

(Just a theory, based on the idea that it is choices that decide who people end up as, not their families, be that blood or house affiliation. I that is a HUGE theme of the books. Plus, I want Neville to kick butt. I like that kid. )

Heh heh... I was looking at those pics, and it seemed for a moment that I had already seen them... then it struck me, I hadn't already seen them, except in my head....

Just another bit of anecdotal evidence, showing that JK Rowling and the movie producers have their stuff together...

But...I do conceed that evil with goodness buried deep inside is more interesting than pure evil. On the other hand I like MJ's point too...I think she's right as well and that most people are relatively good with evil buried inside which makes the opposite (your idea) more interesting.

*rolls eyes* what's all this fuss about who rules and all that? If you were a Ravenclaw, you'd realise that such quarrels were for the peasant masses. *Sniff*

 

and if you were a Slytherin, you'd KNOW that you rule all anyways, and claims to the contrary are pointess. lol

wow, this is bizarre. i just decided today i'd try again to learn how to knit. i'm actually just wasting time til i go to walmart to pick up some yarn. strange, but very cool. great minds think alike, eh?

my wallpaper's the pic of harry holding hermione. i'm completely in love with that picture. i sorta made it into a really simple wallpaper... it's like widescreen with the green color from the background as the letterbox part, and it just says "harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban" in silkscreen on the right of it. so pretty. *kisses it*

can't believe we have to wait til june to see it. *IMPATIENT SIGH*

My loyal Henchman James posed an interesting question. Since it is Buffy AND Hogwarts related, I am posting it on both threads since some people might not be a fan of both and might not read it if I only put it on one thread...(Yes I know, it seems unthinkable that someone would not be a fan of Buffy AND Harry Potter!!!)

What would the Watcher's Council or the Coven think of the methods at Hogwarts?


Here's my take on it...
i think they would approve because Hogwarts is structured and run by highly respected witches and wizards. And in my opinion, learning a craft from responsible masters rather then experimenting by yourself(sometimes with stuff you shouldn't ala Willow)is a far better way to go.

And as for the ones that "went bad", ie the Death Eaters, I think they would probably view them much they way they did Willow when she went evil. Oh and for the record....Willow would be in Ravenclaw and Tara in Hufflepuff.
