Phx The Hiking Thread!

spacyway, I would like to choose Sat. but unfortunatly, I work at 6:00a on Saturday. So either Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday are my only options. Sorry about that, but it's all I can do.

Whatever day it is that people choose (of the three), I'll be there. I so badly need to get back in shape it's not even funny.

I do hope that others are willing to go along. Hiking alone isn't as fun nor as inspiring.

I'll be in the Parking lot of Scottsdale Fashion Square to join those that can make it. It's the only place I can think of to meet that everyone else might know.

I might have been able to make it, but Sideshow got a team of us back into martial arts. Going from no classes in 5 years to the brownbelt class workout suddenly has...taken its toll.

YIPPEEE!!!! The forests are opening up here in Flag on Saturday!! We can do a hike up here now whenever you want!! WOO HOO!!

Jedi_Knight_Whi-Ral when would you like to plan a hike or ANYTHING up by your neck of the woods?

 

I'm working on something for the third weekend in August! How does that sound?

Also, seeing how Sunday is "my Saturday" It's my first day to sleep in! Everybody who wants to do a Camelback hike at 6:30 this Sunday morning (the 21st) say I (or doobie)! I'll gladly be there even if it's only for one person other than myself. Let me know or my alarm stays off and I go Monday. Sorry but I've had a rough week at work.

 

I would but I don't have any legs! So I won't be there. But take care and don't step on any snakes!

 

I think we'll have more takers for hiking when the temperature doesn't reach triple digits.

 

I went hiking (North Mountain)last Sunday at 9:30 AM. The heat wasn't bad at all and there was a nice breeze.

 

Heaven knows I'm not about to go hiking out here at this time of the year

 

Hikng = hot = sweating = no fun = no Darth Feldman..i mean geesh! it was hot enough running around in that friggin jawa costume inside an air conditioned mall!

at 7 am today it was like 85 degrees with 65% humidity..that means its like way sticky and yucky..not for me..SLEEP!!!

 

Hey, I'm from Ohio, its not safe for me to be exercising outside in this weather... my body isn't adapted yet

 

DF, imagine the sleep you will get after hiking for 2 hours in 90 degree 70% humidity weather. That is some deep sleep my friend.

PS: Since when was 85 degrees in AZ considered hot?

 

At 6:30 in the morning it's quite comfortable. Monday I did Camelback (Chollo Trail on the East Side) and Puralta trial on Wednesday. Both at about the same time in the morning. Puralta was a bit humid from the storm the night before, but still comfortable. Camelback was done by 8:30 and Puralta just after 9am. Still not to hot!

I'm willing to try again if I get any takers!

All right Diesel Dave, I'm game. The only thing is, I can't sort out from all the previous post; is there a regular time and day that you go hiking? And what kind of gear will be needed for that sort of thing?

 

After the holidays it will become regular. To much going on at the moment.

 

I think that the weekends would work best for me. I'd prefer to go in the AM, somewhere around Phoenix since it's so cold now.
