Yow. Thankfully he appears to have caught it early and kept in good health.

You do see get see Dale and parts of Smaugh during the intro, which was really awesome. I liked it better than the war of the ring intro in FotR. :p

For those who may find keeping track of the Dwarves difficult:

That cheatsheet is incorrect, because Dori's hair is braided, too. :p And Fili's hair is blond, not red-brown.

Thorin, Kili, Bofur and Balin are the Dwarves that stand out the most during the movie.

Ah, but Dori's hair is grey so he branches out at the first question from Nori and Ori. As for Fili, I can see why they'd say red-brown. Depends on the lighting.

Gotta say I'm very glad this movie was released at Christmas time. I've always liked fantasy movies coming out around the holidays and hate how they all 'must' be moved to the summer $$$$$$$.

Summer's great, but if you're really aiming high, you take the Avatar/Titanic opening spot.

Tomorrow night will mark the third time I have ever gone to a midnight showing. I can't wait!

The funny thing is I find myself going to more midnight showings as I get older because it's that or wait forever to see it.

She's a she, and she actually didn't mention the critics at all. Neither one of us is really that interested in what they have to say. :p

Yes, but he's still in the "hair is not braided" group, together with Oin. Which is incorrect, because Dori's hair IS braided. :-B

I have had great luck for many years going to the first showing on a Saturday morning, usually between 10 am and 11 am, 30 minutes ahead of the showtime and getting the seat I want and much of the time I am the first person in the theatre.

Oh, I mean wait forever as in finding a time I can break away from the family not find a seat. Now when my daughter is a little older this is the kind of movie I'll definitely take her to on a Sat morning.

I won't be able to see it at the earliest Friday, perhaps Saturday or Sunday, I have a terrible flu that will prevent me from going to the midnight, compounded with a final final I have that day. I was hoping to be 3/3 for these movies, but alas, I will not.
