The 9 hours of extras in the EE made the movies a lot better.

 

Well most of it was plot related for TDOS

 

Off the top of my head I remember extended dialogue between Saruman/Gandalf/Galadriel, some footage of Bilbo walking around Rivendell, and a couple more songs. How did any of those relate to TDOS?

They added a nice scene where Bilbo and Thorin overhear gandalf discussing the madness in Thorin's family tree. Yes, the naked dwarves was a good touch too. I think my favorite part was how the entire goblin town scene was changed, I like the extended version of it WAY better.

ok honestly if the hobbit gets censored on the internet it might get some points from me. shows some balls. i think i counted 10.

 

They finally show Thrain and more Beorn, was not a big fan of AUJ EE but I believe this will improve DOS.

Yah but you =/= majority of audience

The difference between AUJ and DOS was less 60M for the 2nd movie, so yeah some people didn't go to see the second one but the majority of people went back to see it and unless the third movie makes only 400/500M WorldWide (which it won't) the majority of those people will go see the third one aswell, I don't think people will go see a third time because they got bored of the last two.

 

I don't think 'a lot of people went to see it!' denotes quality in any way. A lot of people saw Transformers 4. A lot of people go to a lot of stupid ****.

 

The majority of people went to see the second movie and will see the third person because they liked the movies, if the majority of people had found the 1st Hobbit movie "boring" or "bad", Desolation should have made less than half of what Unexpected Journey did, but it didn't, and the same for the 3rd movie.

I think we can agree that the Hobbit movies are no way near as bad as the Transformers movies (and the reviews share the same consensus, AUJ, DOS, TF4), even thou Internet wants to make these movies the new "Prequel Trilogy to bash to." which some of the criticism I share also (the overuse of CGI, Tauriel and Kili "love story", cartoony action scenes), but most of it it's just non-sense bashing and flaming for the sake of it like I see here and in other message boards sometimes.
