Hobbit 3 had a $49 million opening weekend in China. I don't know whether the Chinese box office will push the movie past $1 billion, but $900-$950 million seems like a sure thing now.

 

Well, it depends on how bad their taste is. Which by all accounts seems to be...pretty awful. So yeah, maybe it'll actually reach $1B.

 

And while you're at it, Children of Hurin and the whole Tuor-Fall of Gondolin arc!

 

Eh, I hope the Tolkien estate never sells those rights to The Silmarillion.

Bombadil could have his own Middle Earth superhero franchise. I'm telling you. He was so unfairly shut out of the Jackson movies. Now his time has come.

 

None for me. Even though I didn't quite like The Hobbit films as much as the LOTR films, I liked (for the most part) how TBOTFA tied into LOTR and essentially brought things full circle as a complete Middle-earth saga. I don't think they should try to make new films based on other Middle-earth books, or to create their own stories in that universe; it just feels like it would be better to leave it alone at this point. But I've probably beaten that dead horse enough already.

 

Have they released a super-duper version of Fellowship with Martin in the prologue?

 

No.

 

Not yet, but I'm sure they'll release it.......eventually......never
