It would place Aragorn at 10 years old in Rivendell, or, at the very least, well on his way to his first meeting with Elrond, if we can assume that, for a while, Gilraen would have protected him in the North with the help of some brave Dunedain such as Halbarad.

But as we know, Peter Jackson is fond of playing with events and chronology (like adding Elves at the battle of Helm's Deep), so all bets are off...

An article about 48 fps and how Jackson corrected the look of the Hobbit after the mixed reviews at CinemaCon

And this site is being updated with a list of cinemas that have confirmed to show the Hobbit in 48 fps. (Hopefully London will appear there soon... )

 

I think a series of Silmarillion movies just got a whole lot more likely.

Rowling will be writing a new series about Albus Potter too.

 

The site has updated with an ODEON in Liverpool. That's encouraging.

 

The claims are always all about how 48fps is the next gen idea for 3D films. With clearly no foresight for the idea that, after they're in theatres, no one will ever see them that way again. Blech.

 

Directors care about the cinema experience, not the home theatre experience, what's your point?

 

Also:

 

1. They don't care about 2D cinema?
2. Yeah, those home theaters, with their HD screens and surround systems. None of the cinematic experience translates!

 

It's not 1970. Home video is sort of important these days.

Those track listings give a pretty specific idea of where the first film will end.

Apologies if this has been covered in the previous 70-odd pages, but do we know how Jackson is going to reconcile the 'escape from the wood elves' section with his (pretty unnecessary) inclusion of the drinking contest in LOTR between Gimli and Legolas?

In the latter, he pretty much implied that a) Elves don't really go in for booze, and b) when they do, they're impervious to it. Whereas obviously in the former we need the Elves to be big drinkers and the Steward to be a one-glass-and-asleep-on-the-table type.

Are the gaolers going to be moving barrels of something other than wine? Or will they just not feel the ill effects and fall asleep?

This has been worrying me. It shouldn't.

it's just Lego being silly, though, and trying to include more elf mini figs in their sets, instead of another Bilbo.

For me it's a tie between Gandalf (for nostalgia's sake) and Thorin (hello, eyes of steel - nay, mithril). Though my fondness for Armitage may colour my judgment a wee bit...
