heres lord of the rings on guiter metal Rohan theme sounds awsome. Hobbit theme I can't find yet so we are going to have to wait awhile!
I'm going to see the HFR IMAX* of the Hobbit today. Feels like doing a homework assignment I really, really don't want to do. I'll report back later. *read: just on a somewhat bigger screen
If you go in with that attitude, you'll come out with it unchanged. Give it a fair chance. If you do that, and don't like it, then it's all good.
You might conceivably have left it out....if one leaves aside the fact that series being nominated would be a big headline because of the academy's lack of recognition of Mo-Cap acting....
^Just on a somewhat bigger screen, and also being made many times clearer, sharper and better by the doubling of the frame rate....at least, in my opinion.
And you guys have already decided I'm going to be unfair, which isn't true. I love nothing more than having low expectations and being surprised. But it still feels like an assigned viewing rather than something I'm seeing purely because I'm excited for it, let's be honest. Still, I've loved tons of things I was forced to watch for classes. What I'm saying is I will definitely be fair. That was a swipe at the fact that nothing about this film or its presentation is true IMAX, not about the framerate.
So I have finished the first third of the book. The group is done meeting Beorn. I assume in the next film we will see an action scene with Beorn and his bears against the wargs. It is obvious to me as a d&d person that the Mirkwood inspired The High Forest of the Forgotten realms.
Exactly. Plus for me it's like can we not even leave alone the most dense, impenetrable thing in geekdom? Even that has to have an adaptation (e.g. money maker) that overpowers the original in popular attention, really?
From what I'd read (and I believe someone else said), Christopher and Simon are very much at odds about the movies--Christopher hates them; Simon loves him. Yes, Christopher will probably not live all that many more years, but if I wer him, I'd hand off rights to someone who isn't Simon. Which isn't to say that the new copyright holder won't turn around and sell stuff to PJ or whomever, but I think Christopher will tr to give them to someone who won't sell film rights.
The 2nd movie will go all the way to the defeat of Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Smaug
We don't know that for certain yet, but it seems like the most logical choice - it would be a good action climax for the film. And then the third film will have the Battle of the Five Armies as its climax.
That song was dreadful. Also, Everton, you and Mar liking each other's posts - whilst understandable - makes me think this is LACWAC so please, you know, be careful.
