I despise Peter Jackson, the only reason LOTR movies were good was because the material was so great even Peter Jackson couldn't ruin it.
Peter Jackson should have directed the prequels and should be the head admin of the JC, and should have written the Harry Potter books, and should take God's place, and he should have written the Lord of the Rings.
Yes, let's start speculating who will be cast as Smaug's voice. I personally would welcome Jason Isaacs. His voice is just right for Smaug - evil, arrogant and sneaky.
Well this is great news to my ears! I'm thrilled PJ will be the one to be doing it and not someone else. At least the actors will stay the same now too because most of them said they wouldn't do it if PJ wasn't doing it.
How about a Jabba the Hutt voice? Larry Ward is his name. Throw in some deep, gutteral sound and that could be a winner. I would rather it not sound too human though, I don't want to see a hobbit talking to a cartoony cgi dragon with an articulate human voice. Edit: Or maybe I do. The voice of the Persian King in The 300 could be cool.
Jackson won't be directing Hobbit. It's a pity, but I understand his reasons. And he's executive producer, and hopefully the rest of the crowd (WETA, etc.) will stay the same, so the atmosphere and look of Middle-earth will be the same as in LOTR.
