    SOOO excited they are making this into a movie!

    The movie comes out in March 2012 and I can't wait!!

    Who else is psyched to see Katniss and Peeta take on the Games???

    Never read the books but the trailer looks promising. One of my professors designed a boardgame tie-in for the movie and said the source material was surprisingly violent so we'll see how the film turns out in that regards.

    Though it might be difficult to avoid comparisons to Battle Royale (when I mentioned some BR details, he did say that THG had many similarities), except as to the level of violence given the ratings diferrences.

    I'm usually NOT a fan of book adaptations (LOTR being the exception), but I can't help but be excited about this. The trailer looks so cool! It definitely is a violent story (especially one marketed as YA, but it's also really good.

    So long as logic triumphs over emo poserism, fine.
    If it is more angst and self flagellating/whining, then I'm not interested.

    Either way, will wait for the DVD. (that's true of every movie and TV show--I'm not singling this one out)

    Read the first one, by far the best of the series. Number 2 devolves a little into emoism and number 3 jumps right off the edge, especially the last 50 pages or so. Seemed like Ms. Collins decided that crapping on Katniss was the only way she could finish the books.

    I just watched the trailer for the first time, and I'm so excited!! I don't know about Donald Sutherland as Snow (he seems too nice), but I'm excited about everyone else (and I do like Sutherland).
