NYC, NY The HVE Thread

Hey all,

Just got back from HVE, it was a most...interesting experience. Going from Wrestling World downstairs to Star Wars world upstairs was kinda odd, yet cool.

Cool Things:

Got David Prowse's autograph, that man ROCKS!!

Met Uncle Owen and Shared a few thoughts on the younger portrayal of him.

5yr. old nephew became an Offical Jedi knight.

Met some really cool vendors (who cut me some awesome deals).

Hanging out with John at lunch

Not-so-cool-things:

The event could have been advertised better, there should have been signs and stuff leading up to the place.

Seemed like there was some kind of weird vibe going on, but that's none of my business.

Overall, I had a really good time. Oh, and Sam, my 5yr. old nephew wants me to say that he thinks the "princess with the blue dress, was really, really, pretty"

Just got back myself at...9:15 pm. Yikes. Anyhow, I had fun today. I was glad to see Phil Brown and glad to talk to David Prowse (again). Got a cool lucite blade for my lightsaber so I can use it during the day. Got a couple of things for friends. Smaller than I thought it was going to be.

I had a good day to I guess. Talk at ya all when you get back.

It was somewhat of a letdown. Although I finaly did get my self a lightsaber and a purple blade.

we stopped by this afternoon, bought lot's of toys for the kids, my son became a jedi . definitely could've been advertised better... there was a small article in tues. paper here and only a blurb in today's nothing in our thursday- weekend section. i think i was the only person in rockland who knew about it. sloatsburg is in the middle of nowhere... i've lived here (in rockland) for 33 years and have never actually been in the town , only driven through to get to the ren faire. it was kinda odd walking in with all that wrestling vibe/stuff in the entry way. hopefully sunday's turn out will be better....

Well, it was great giggly fun , but to those of you who didn't make it... Don't sweat it! Sloatsburg may be the smallest town I've ever been in. Well, second smallest, right after Gooberville, Akansas. Basically, we all had tons 'a fun, but you didn't miss anything really. Nothing that can't be recreated at Fan Day!

 

The only thing that anyone really missed out on was the wild party we had Saturday night. It was a blast.

I cannot wait to do it again.

dude, i was 1% hungover for the first fifteen minutes after i got up this morning. that much i can attribute to sleep deprivation.
