Hm. Maybe that's why Rachel wanted to know if I had plans -- I think she wanted to go?

What would be worse -- LOTR was just a chronicle of a protoype RPG.

T: "Sorry Jimmy, but your character is dead."
J: "But I've been playing Gandalf since 7th grade! You can't do this to me."
    T: "Dude -- we're 30. I think it's time to try something new."
J: "You are aware that I paid rent this month because you're too lazy to get a real job, right?"
T: "[cringing] OKOK...you can bring Gandalf back, and you'll get an extra 100k XP to spend however you want for somehow killing the Balrog. Try to at least come up with an explanation on how you killed him OK?"
J: "I threw him down the cavern!"
    T: "Dude...c'mon..."
    J: "I bought groceries, too."
    T: "Alright...alright..."

    Curse you Zoom!

Now I'm addicted to killing Orks!

Bah! As if I have time for this!

Gotta go kill Orks now... or maybe Space Marines...

LOL. Killing Orcs and Orks is just too fun.

The roughest games are when you play a skirmish one on one with the computer. Set the game to "quickstart" so you both start with lots of resources, and set difficulty to normal. It's rough. I'm not ready for the "hard" setting yet, and most online games won't play against the computer because it's too hard. Such a change from Starcraft -- most of my victories so far have been by seconds.

I know what you mean. With a quick start skirmish I always end up with a stalemate/meatgrinder situation with a good sized front with both sides dumping everything they can into it... Sooner or later I'll figure out how to break the stalemate and move to 'hard'. I'm terrified of'nightmare' - does the machine begin to cheat at this setting?

Although I like the Orks... They're fun to play in a goofy sorta way... WAAAGH!

I still can't win when I use Orks.

But yeah -- so far, the secret I've found is to start capturing as much of the map as you can. The CPU isn't able to keep up and it spreads its forces a little too thin trying to take stuff away from you.

A few turrets around each resource point will keep them occupied long enough for you to make one big push. But I've noticed on the "standard" setting the CPU doesn't use turrets -- it just upgrades the listening posts.

I got my computer back today. Whodda thunk that Dell could really fix it and have it back in a week!?! :D

Now, I have to say that I am most disappointed in you all. I am gone for an entire week and there are only four threads to read -and very few posts in them! I will have to quote my dear sweet Sith husband on this..."Curse you Zoom!"

I know you are wondering why I said that but since my husband has been killing orks this entire week and that is your fault then I figured everything must be your fault. ;)

How can it be my fault? I was at church.

And somehow we got Alex started on Galaxies, and she's actually enjoying it. Everyone who's been playing the game for a couple years are still having mixed feelings about all the changes, though.

    [face_dancing]

Now comes the part where I require hawtpants for every slave...then make all the male members of the city slaves...

    ;)

I'm still trying to decide if all the new changes are good or not, otherwise I'd try to tempt you more. Right now, it's looking grim for the Ninjas.

On the upside, with an oven in the garage now, I'll be able to bake on the teflon paint for the gear Pat and I are working on. Our anti-zombie weaponry will resemble something like this:

    [image=http://www.lauerweaponry.com/images/cprpu_15.jpg]

I think we're going for more of an earth-toney set of colors since we're sorta in the desert, though. Also not using DuraCoat -- the teflon stuff we found is much more awesome.

    More homework. *sigh*

Did one assignment last night. Have 2 papers due tomorrow night by 10pm. Already have my references and outlines done -- just need to get past the writer's block and actually start writing.

One page written. Another 1-2 left on this paper. Yay.

Might be going to the store, though.

2 pages down. 1 to go. Maybe. This one's going fast because the question was about databases, data warehouses, data marts, and data mining -- all stuff I do on a regular basis.

I don't recall doing any hamster impersonations, but anything's possible.

Never did go to the store. Instead, I have 2 papers written. 1 is 90% finished, and the other is 50% finished. So, I guess the time wasn't wasted.
