The I am Your Father Revelation in ESB

Totally agreed with Tyranus-the-hutt!

Just a point to ponder. Does anyone think that when Vader (at the Superstar destroyer bridge) tells Luke after his escape "join me....it is your destiny" is similar to Anakin's "anything is possible Padme. Listen to me"?

 

Tyranus is right, I watched all 5 episodes yesterday, and the revelation hit me like never before.

If it were really all depending on the surprise factor, it would only work the first time.

 

I think the fact that Palpatine is a Sith Lord will be dramatic as well, but ofcourse it stays a very good line and it made movie history. Everybody knows that single line, fan or no fan, everbody knows: ''Luke I am your father!'' It still sends shivers down my spien whenever I see it.

Or, rather, they don't know the line, since it isn't "Luke, I am your father". It's "No; I am your father."
