PT The "I Didn't Like Yaddle" Thread

I HATED Yaddle, I thought she was the most pointless character in the PT. She didn't speak like many of the Jedi council members, but this wasn't the issue. A minor issue lies in the fact that she is just a female version of Yoda, in my eyes. And she can never compare to the Jedi grand master. But the big issue she poses is that Yoda's species and history is mysterious and the introduction of Yaddle seems to make it less mysterious and more of a 'normal' species. It may be slightly irrational but this is how the character made me feel.

Anyone else have an issue with her? Rant away...

 

Only 3 of the Council members (other than Obi-Wan) actually talk in the PT.

Mace, Yoda and Ki-Adi Mundi.

So Yaddle not talking isn't a problem to me.

She also appears for about 10 seconds overall in the film, and has basically no impact, so I don't have any strong feeling either way towards her.

Yoda had to come from somewhere, so why not have another of his species?

 

You know who is pointless? Every extra with a Wookieepedia page. All Cantina aliens, all Jabba Palace patrons, all Cloud City guards, the alien in the trash compactor, all extras on Courscant, pretty much all extra people in films in general. Who cares?

 

I mean...you really have to squint your eyes to even see Yaddle. Is it really anything that big to hate on?

 

She's only in the TPM for a coupe minutes....

After that she disappears.

 

I used to think like the OP in that she made Yoda less mysterious, but lets face it Yoda must have had a mommy and daddy...

he was hardly the product of a Toydarian and an ugnaught was he? he can't be the only one of his species in the galaxy.

 

Did they remake her with CGI like Yoda?

 

I don't think they did because why waste the money?

 

I dislike her for not giving Poof the keys to her car *cough insurance...

 

She spent her whole life and career in Yoda's petite shadow...she was trying so hard and everyone refused to see it.

 

Again her not talking is not an issue.

Her appearance was brief but the impact was massive, I hate her so much! She looks so messed up as well, if all female 'Yoda's species' looked like her, then it is no wonder why they are so rare!

 

Yes, Yaddle's presence clearly has a negative impact on the film, and destroys it beyond repair. If only Lucas had been smart enough to cut those seconds of barely seeing her.

 

All I remember of Yaddle is that she was basically Yoda with brown hair, was a member of the Jedi Council, and died in one of those EU novels when Anakin was a young apprentice and he blamed himself for her death.

 

That's more than a lot of Star Wars characters have in their biographies.

 

Wookieepedia is great for researching characters when ya don't have the time or are too lazy to get the actual stories they occurred in.

I find it hilarious that we have a Yaddle hate thread. I'm not even sure why it's hilarious, but it is

 

I know you're not the biggest advocate of the prequels but even you have to admit this is a bit ridiculous

 

Can anyone explain why Yaddle needed brown hair?
