Maybe we can have a poll style vote in the future where everyone can vote. Something like they've done for the banner contest might work. Each icon maker could submit an icon and maybe the top 3 or so get uploaded. The same thing could work for the replacement of icons.

This request may sound strange, but it's important to me.

I wish to talk about #44, the Thrawn icon. As you can see, I'm using the icon. I have been using it ever since it was uploaded on June 2, 2001. It's one of the oldest icons around. I am the only user with it who posts regularely in YJCC. People look at the icon and immediately know it's me. The name "Admiral_Thrawn60" just isn't complete without that icon below it. I've used it for so long that it's just became so closely associated with me. It looks like "A" may win that category. I hate that icon. I want CGI. Not hand-drawn. What I'm asking is that, in the event A wins that category, you add it rather than replacing the current icon with it. I know these changes are being done in a democratic way, but I just don't see how it could hurt to have just one more icon. These things are only 2.06 kb anyway.

When it comes time to delete an icon, I believe the people using the icon in question should have their opinion mean more than the opinion of someone who is not using the icon. It's a personal icon, and ultimately, I believe the decision should be up to them.

Please don't take my icon away.

List of Replacement Icon Recommendations

 

That's going to become a very wide page, G-S.

 

I know. I am not sure how else to organize it.

 

Perhaps you could leave the total results for each icon as follows:

Picture of Icon 1 w/ replacements: Replace - 15, Keep - 12, etc...
Picture of Icon 2 w/ replacements: "

This way, your list won't grow beyond the total # of icons. What you could then do is go into something like Excel and type in the individual results. Host that page and provide a link for individual voting and the members who voted.

 

I can do that!

I just thought every perosn voting would want to able to specifically see what every other voter chose for each icon. But I can summarize the votes for each letter.

 

They'll still be able to see it, but they won't have to scroll over and see the text size getting smaller and smaller as we go through the month of September.
