Hello, I'm doing an assessment task at school on the similarities and differences of the two pieces. Does anyone have any comments they would like to make on either or both of the pieces? Anything would be much appreciated because I don't know where to start!

    Thanks,

Well they are hardly alike (except in one respect - they're both by John Williams and are very good pieces of music).

If you want differences, the Imperial March is heavy and bombastic, while the Scherzo is light and very staccato.

The Imperial March is a theme for a person and an order, and represents them. But the scherzo is an action cue of sorts, just for the scene in which it is used.
