I went to the first showing today at my local, (I took my Dad, he introduced me to the movies so it seemed fair I take him to this one.)

Loved it, loved it!

Won't give nothing away, you'll all enjoy it though I think.

It was on last night! lol It was quite good actually, but I was ready to go to sleep.

 

Saw Indy again tonight ! It was even BETTER seeing it for the second time !! Awesome !!

 

mrs_jtn here, jtn & I went to see Indy on Friday the 23th, it was absolutely fantastic!

Harrison Ford still has it, we both enjoyed it as much as the other 3 movies, would love to watch it again, the critics are so wrong, as it's got nothing elderly in it, he's distinguished.

It made me jump alot, poor jtn's hand got a bit squeezed at times, so it was very suspenseful & intriguing, not a dull part in the movie. Loved it!

 

I COMPLTELY agree Mrs JTN !! Almost all of the reviews I have read have been fantastic but there have been a couple of reviews that have made comments like " It wasn't believable in parts" Hello...It's an Indy movie !!! Like jumping out of plane in a life raft is believable. Like firing off about 30 shots without reloading is feasable Like ripping out a person's heart with them still living is belieavable???

That's waht Indy movies are all about, action, adventure & excitement, not about all about being non fiction ! People who can let go & just enjoy the movie can really really enjoy it. I LOVED it for the second time.

Action, adventure movies aren't supposed to be factual, is James Bond ? Batman ? or any others like that ? I'm not sure why I am reading this criticism then.

The other point I have heard is that it is not as good as Raiders Hello ! What is ?? Raiders was the first & it was amazing. You can't re do that. It's like the same criticism that is leveled at the Pre trilogy of SW, it is unfair. The prequels were good movies, were they as good as the OT ? Probably not for most people, but they were set an EXREMELY hard task to make a series again as good as that. Back in 1977, audiences didn't expect as much either, Stop motion animation was state of the art !! We expect too much of movies I think some of the time these days.

Indy 4 was awesome & it was everything I was hoping to get out of it. Action, adventure & fun ride with the man in the hat again.

The main complaints I've heard are lack of a real sense of danger, lack of urgency and stilted dialogue/plot trying to join together the cool action scenes. Uncle George strikes again

I'm hopefully going to go see it next week, personally it sounds like a good bit of B grade fun to me

 

Except George didn't write or direct this. So you can't really blame him for the dialogue or plot.
