I cannot say that Luke going Dark Side would be ruining the movie for me as I will pretty much roll with whatever happens. I just personally don't like the notion.

    [IMG] ATTENTION ALL SENTIENTS [IMG]

This system is now under the Protectorate of the Imperial Spoiler Surveillance Fleet. We have reason to believe that your system has become home to a secret cell of malicious Roomours, an abominable parasitic species hell bent on upsetting the glorious decades-long status quo. Their ludicrous propaganda and spreading of mass-hysteria must be stopped. As a gesture of good will and out of respect for your previous loyalty to the Empire, we have chosen to extend a friendly hand to your government. Do not be alarmed. We assure you that we will not repeat the mistakes that were made in your neighboring star system during Operation Hearts and Minds.

What do you mean "wasn't supposed to remove them"?

The Command Staff of the Star Destroyer Impulsive realises that it is necessary in these dark, confusing times to engage with our subjects on a more personal level, to make them feel special and unique - after all, no two faceless numbers in our vast sector census database are exactly the same. That being the situation, we have deployed our newly-reformed VIP Escort Squad to extend a personal invitation to a prominent citizen of your homeworld.

    Operation "Helping Hand"

Please welcome aboard our newest guest, here to tell you about all the benefits of avoiding planetary annihilation by unconditional cooperation - DarthBreezy !

    ------------------------

    1. How did you first come across the Jedi Council forums?

It was so long ago... 12 years this June actually.I saw 'Clones in the theater with my roomies, and after being a bit, well, disappointed with TPM, and my first reaction was OMG! Luke's dad was HOT!!!

I became pretty heavily involved with the fan fiction community (and causing ALL sorts of grief because I was one of those who fought against the rather puritan rules as far as sex and later same gender romance. I'm rather proud to say the standards I help set are still in place today.

    2. What is your fondest Star Wars related memory?

Oh my, I have a lot actually - from seeing the original first film in the theater (the never ending Star Destroyer) to actually meeting (and sitting with) Carrie and Mark as their guest escort - they say 'Never meet your Heroes', well, they proved to be the exception to the rule. Both Mark and Carrie are truly lovely people, even when they are not ‘on’ for the masses. Carrie is a sly devil – sharp as a razor with a wicked sense of humor that sometimes you have to be quick to catch, but I adore the ‘background extras – they told the best stories. Mike, who played an Ewok in Jedi told me how they had to hit one of the troopers with a prop club so he would fall on cue, but the guy couldn’t feel or hear it, and so would just stand there.. After about four attempts, they gave him a real bat and said ‘Just hit him as hard as you can!’ Knocked the poor guy out cold…
Nick Gillard owns a print of my avatar, "Julian by the Sea".

    3. That really sounds like a unique experience. Did you maybe manage to meet some other cast members and did they perhaps share an interesting story or two?

I <heart> Paul Blake (Greedo) – he still remembers me – I was known as the ‘Tea Lady’ at one of the earlier Celebrations as I brought English Tea (properly boiled water, milk) around to all the British Actors. Nick (Gillard) told me that the photo of him with Hayden (with his Sithly eyes) was taken as he and Hayden were talking **** about George…. (I think he was half joking!)

    4. What is your favorite Star Wars possesion? (toy, poster, costume, books, comics, various merchandise, etc.)

A BEER COASTER! I picked up a set of six in Elstree, London at a jumble sale for like
7$ - they said "Blue Falcon Productions" - Turns out they are way more collectable than even I thought!

    5. So. A Sequel Trilogy, who would’ve thought. Before the announcement, did you actually expect this to ever happen?

    Not in a million.

    6. What was your initial reaction to the news of the Disney sale and the upcoming Sequel Trilogy?

Mixed - after shock! I thought it was all done.

    7. Many people expressed concern because it was now in hands of Disney. What actual level of control or micromanagement you think Disney will have over the franchise?

They’ve actually been VERY good to Marvel, so I have high hopes they’ll let Star Wars run itself in the same way. Give them the seed money, then sit back, shut up and let those who know the franchise do their thing.

    8. Were you around for the PT speculation? If so, what’s your favorite moment from that period?

3SA - "Back in Black" hands down. Ahh BiB – the day the Forums melted. It was a video that was presented to some bigwigs that got recorded and escaped to the internet via shaky hand held hide a cam. AC/DC’s ‘Back in Black’ showcasing the return of Darth Vader – footage of Hayden and Ewan rehearsing the final light saber battle (and showing just how damn hard those boys worked). Every time I hear that song I remember…

    9. Just how spoiled do you plan to be for Episode 7?

I'm entrenched here, I'm afraid - I read the E-3 Novel the day it came out in one sitting...

    10. What is your favorite theory concerning Episode 7 from these boards?

Well, the biggest one turned into reality - a reunion of the OT three plus Chewie is a bonus (I've been cheering on Peter's rehab) and that Han and Leia have a daughter.

    11. And the least favorite?

Liberal use of the EU - especially the inclusion of characters that overshadow the classic film characters. And the idea that Luke is married to *that woman*.

    12. We now know (probably) all of the most important cast members. What are your thoughts on these new faces? Who do you think will play who?

Interesting! A nice mix of familiar and new – other than Daisey, who I THINK will play a Solo, I’m unsure – I do think Luke is childless though.

    13. Describe your ideal Villain in the ST and who would you cast to play him?

Honestly, I'm pretty open to anything new - I'd prefer that the actual Sith to have died with Vader/Palpatine, but a cult that developed around them? *shrug* Just make it interesting. As far as casting - Well, Max von Sidow is a real coup - bUt he might even be a good guy. That's the coolest thing about the ST - we just don't know!

    14. And the Hero?

Han and Leia's daughter - girls kick ass!! Not 'Jaina' but I could live with her, even if the name her that too,

    15. What sort of character would you like her to be? Jedi? Scoundrel? A Jedi scoundrel? Something completely else?

A bit of both – stronger in the ‘wit’ side at first, but becoming more calm and centered as she learns and grows in the Force.

    16. Every Star Wars movie needs awesome supporting characters. Any ideas for those?

An alien sidekick or two - with a toned down personality of Captain Jack Sparrow. Someone who will compliment but won't overshadow our heroes - yeah, I'm looking for the next generation's Chewie...

    17. Any special cameos or easter eggs you’d like to see in Episode 7?

Yes - see the specific scene question.

    18. This one’s a bit tougher than it seems at first glance. We don’t have any facts so let’s just go by gut feeling. How good do you think Episode 7 will be? Are you optimistic? Pessimistic? Reserved? Will it be great? Abominable? Average?

I am cautiously optimistic - Mark's excited tweet from the table read fills me with joy though.

    19. Is there a particular, weirdly specific scene that you’ve come up with in great detail that you’d love to see in the ST, regardless of how plausible that is?

Luke watching a holo of Anakin and Padme being married, even if it's just like one of those moving pictures like in Padme's room in the deleted scenes from 'Clones...' my black little fan heart would weep with joy.

    20. We also know that Rian Johnson is directing Episode 8. What are your thoughts on that?

I guess my answer is ‘Who’? I’m still waiting to see how seven pans out, and if JJ kills the franchise…

    21. I'm curious what would in your opinion be something that potentially "kills the franchise"?

Think Phantom Menace levels of product that never ends – the ‘It’s a Small World’ of ‘stuff’. *shudder*
Also, relying TOO heavily on the nostalgia factor (I thought ‘Trek Into Remake’ suffered TERRIBLY from that – indeed, during Spock’s pivotal “Khan’ scene, I actually laughed…) but on the other hand, drifting so far away from the characters ‘soul’ would also be disastrous i.e. ‘Darth Luke’ – Sorry, he fought that battle and won (unlike his father). They have a whole box of new characters to create and mold and mangle to their hearts (dis)content, ‘Darth Luke’ would be like slapping arms on the Venus De Milo, or colorizing ‘Psycho’ *oh wait…

    22. Who would you like to see direct Episode 9?

Open, as long as it’s good and true to the overall feel of the franchise. No over use of LENS FLARES – for the love of god, someone put a filter on JJ’s LENS FLARES. Anytime I watch one of his films I keep wanting to see if my screen is (messed) up.

    23. What do you think will be Abrams’ level of involvement with the franchise as a whole?

He seems to be having fun with it, I just hope that ‘fun’ translates into a fantastic film and not just a love letter to the OT era.

    24. The Spin Offs are quite an unknown at this point. What are your thoughts on those? Anything specific you’d like to see? Something you hope NOT to see?

NEW stories – NEW Characters – We don’t need every character, every event spoon fed to us. Some things should just remain the great unknown. I don’t need nor want to see “Han Solo, the High School Drop Out Years.”

    25. The big EU reboot. It has been a somewhat divisive issue among fans, quite understandably so. What are your thoughts on this? Do you plan to follow the new EU?

Dare I say ‘probably’ – I’m willing to give it a second chance, but I reserve the right to ignore it if it remains poorly written, paid fan fiction where author self insertion is blatantly rampant.

    26. Episodes X, XI and XII - yea or nay? Why?

I'm going to say Nay - in fact, I'm very leery of the 'one new movie a year' plan - spin off or no. Part of what makes Star Wars special is it's not perpetually in your face unless you want it to be.

    27. Congratulations. You’ve been contacted by The Powers That Be to create a ten episode Star Wars series. Live action, animated, CGI… it’s up to you. Give us a short synopsis.

I'd love to see Jim Henson's company take on a sort of 'Tales from the Galaxy' vibe - different characters, unrelated in any way to our Heros but moving in the same Galaxy - from Everyman to even an Imperial Officer - I've seen some AMAZING fan faction short stories that could really rock this...

    28. Speaking of fan fiction, you mentioned you are quite active on that front. What are the sort of stories do you prefer to write?

I *was* back in the day, I still write but now just lump them all over at fan fiction.net . It’s a cleaner, easier way to read and write stories without the love/hate need to have the running commentary/replies. Also, everything is nicely kept in one place and I don’t have to stifle the creativity as much. If a story calls for a more ‘mature’ scene, you don’t have to ask people to “PM fur the missing scene. Between all that bumping and grinding there might even be a vital plot point that loses its punch when a paragraph or two is shaved down to one or two lines.
To paraphrase Stephen King, I write the stories I want to read, but that’s such an over simplification. I write the stories that grab me by the metaphorical throat and say “I will not let you rest until you write me down!” (Again, thank you SK)

    29. Do you rather rely on existing characters or create original ones? Which of the existing characters do you find the most interesting/challenging to write?

I love writing Original characters, at first they are very ‘freeing’ and then they find their voice and you learn to dance WITH them instead of trying to dictate them. One of my favorite OC’s is Luke’s brother in law – he’s a real piece of work, and the subject of a lot of hatred from my friends and readers, but I love him, even when I want to smack him myself.

I adore writing Luke now, he scared me at first but then I got to know ‘my’ version of him and he flows most easily. Leia of all people I have the most difficulty with, perhaps it’s because in my deepest and darkest place, I identify with her more than anyone. I am the way I am because I HAVE to be…

Funny enough, for all my ranting against the established Old EU, I borrowed liberally from it as far as place names and the odd characters went. The Solo Children (in name only really) for example, but ‘My” Luke is a father three* times over, and his wife (a character who was never meant to be until my ‘OC’s’ took on a life of their own and ultimately gave me a plethora of new characters) is a toned down version of Han in many ways, and is quite content to be more of a supporting character over all.

I’ve been very blessed to have some amazing writing partners as well as seen my ‘children’ in other people’s works, so I must be doing something right on occasion…

    30. Let’s talk about the Saga in general a bit. A classic question - favorite movie?

It's a toss up between the very first Star Wars when it was a self contained film, and Empire - Empire took things to a whole new level. THREE YEARS man… Three YEARS before we knew the Truth about Luke’s Father….

    31. Which scene from the Saga did have the strongest emotional impact on you?

I cried when I found out via hyperspace that Anakin KNEW Padme was pregnant - we caught them on the spycam rehearsing - I saw Empire when it was first released - pre 'spoiler' days - I STILL get chills during the 'father' exchange because no one wanted to believe it.

    32. If there was one thing you could change about anything in the Saga - what would it be?

Anakin's actual final turn to the Dark Side - Stover handled it beautifully (other than the cheesy dialogue on Mustafar) in the film it was 'Bibbity Bobbity BOO! You're a Sith!" - also, the youngling slaughter in the Temple - I can't bear to watch that. Indeed, I think ‘Sith’ was rushed (story AND production wise) and while I’m not a big fan of Two Part movies, I could have forgiven them for that with Sith if it was done right.

    33. What was your least appropriate use of a Star Wars quote in real life?

There's never an inappropriate use of a good quote! Most people don't know what a geek I really am.

    34. If you lived in GFFA, what would be your ideal occupation?

    Artist - well paid artist.

    35. Favorite Force ability?

Telekinesis. Yes, I DO do the hand wave with automatic doors…

    36. Let’s move away from Star Wars for a bit. Have any hobbies or interesting pastimes?

I love, I live to travel. I have flight privileges on Delta Airlines for another few years, and have been to so many places! I went to Dublin after a fight with the then S/O - nearly 18 hours of flight time for less than 24 hours in Ireland. I've spent a week 'on Corellia' (aka Buenos Aires) with my dear friend Cristina (GoldenJedi) - a weekend in Paris, just because I wanted to see the Opera House...I've also taken a taxi ride in an Avro Lancaster (WWII RAF Bomber) 'Just Jane' - My dad was a Pilot Flight Engineer during the war, while my late mum was a child evacuee from London. I was actually born in the UK so I try to go back yearly, and just came back from a trip after a three year absence, so I sound like a Brummy again when I talk.

An item off my bucket list - Seeing not just one but TWO Avro Lancasters fly. Even my dad, whom asking about his experiences is akin to pulling teeth from a chicken, was pleased to see this. Southport Airshow, 20th September...

    I'm also an artist!

Mixed media (acrylics, pencil, conte crayon - NO digital) 2'X3' in about 6 hours at one setting - yeah, both the living room and I were a mess when it was done.

Julian - (my ex's son) about 5-6 years ago. We'd gone to Saltwater Park on Mother's day, and I took a photo of him. His dad may still have his copy, and Nick Gillard has one. 17"X24" ish, Water colour and pencil.

1907 'Sneaky Tiger' From the Loof Carousell in Spokane - 8"X 14" - watercolour pencil on paper, back in the day when I made a bit of money from my art (hense the watermark).

    37. Any other favorite franchises, besides Star Wars?

The usual suspects - Harry Potter, a bit of Trek - but I like a buffet of things. I'm also a huge Phantom of the Opera fan - I saw Michael Crawford play the role in LA in 1990.. I also have become fond of the 'sequal' Love Never Dies - I love rich, sweeping music...

    38. Any specific goals you hope to achieve by the end of the year?

A new job, a new life - it's been a trial... I was diagnosed with a chronic illness, had my apartment burn down, lost a very lucrative job as a travel agent, and after two months of zero income, took a job that pays half (UG!) and had a 5 plus year 'relationship' end abruptly and brutally - in the end it turned out to be the best for me (hind sight is a wonderful thing) but still...
As well as saving for Celebration in California, I need to go back to England again soon for longer than a week and sort some things out for a long term return to ‘Old Blighty’ – At least I know where home truly is now…
