9 out of 10.

I thought it was extremely well written, and gave me a lot to think about. I had to re-read it to try and understand it better, and enjoyed it thouroughly.

What did I think of Traitor? Mmm. I'll have to break it down.

Section 1 was the worst Star Wars book that I have ever read. It was practically a how-to manual on torture and brainwashing. This is not what Star Wars is about. 0/10

Section 2 was among the best of the NJO. One of my pet peeves with the NJO has been the lack of dealing with the Force; it's as if the authors/editors didn't want to risk having something contradicted by Uncle George's movies. Finally, we get a book that deals with the Force. It's about time!! Now, whether or not I agreed or disagreed with what was actually put forth, at least someone tackled the issue head-on. Points off for having yet another outside influence be the one who provides insight into the Force. 8/10.

Section 3 started out on a promising note, but for me, the ending was just too fanboyish. 4/10

So, all in all, (0+8+4)/3 = 4.

I agree with what jades fire said about section 2. The force is largly ignored in the NJO. In almost all situations, Jedi use there "reasoning skills" to work out problems instead of the force. Traitor doesn't do that so that is why I give traitor a well deserved 10/10!
