Just checked on that poem again, and it is by Blake. From it's an excerpt from "Augeries of Innocense" from his 1863 work, Poems.

    Decision

Love is a series of ?darlings? and ?dearies,?
Of ?honeys? and ?sweeties? and sugared entreaties,
Of moonings and croonings and cooings and billings,
All negated sometimes by beatings and killings.

Love?s a collection of words of affection,
And the words you don't hear, so silent but clear,
The message unspoken, the nuance subliminal,
The unspeakable acts that we dare to call ?criminal.?

But is love really pain? Is there something to gain
By living in fear of the one you hold dear?
Do you point out the sweetness, excuses and flattery
To justify moments of terror and battery?

No, love is a choice! Do you heed the one voice
That tells you to stay when good sense says, ?no way!??
Do you stay with the chap like a good, loyal wife,
Or forget all that crap and escape with your life?

?Oh, but I can't just leave! Who knows what to believe??
?Should I go? Should I stay? Is there some other way??
?Can I just run and hide? Tell me what I should do!?

Only you can decide that your first love is . . . You!

    The Orchestra

Silent and still and my doubts grow
Darkness is there, above and below!
    Taking flight, fearful yet stout
    I frowned and watched...wait! what a shout!
Rising vertically and giving into me
It cries and wavers, yearning to be free
Whispers soon followed, I watched in awe
Torch and powder and a fighting claw
Harsh chords and thunder across the sky
I turned tail and chose to fly
Dodging the beat, circling the sharps
They shot at me with arrows and harps
Smooth rivers of woods followed behind
But the metals of brass weren't so kind
Caught in a trap, I cried for assistance
But by then the battle was distant
The fight was over and with a calm reverie
I cajoled and grinned and shouted with glee
The conductor bowed and the musicians tapped
And with a shaky laugh, I finally clapped

I wrote this after my girlfriend for 10 months broke up with me:

When pain and fury foretells my fate
And I cry in misery in my morose state
When I walk alone in misleading paths
And try to survive mu cruel world's wrath

I stop for a while and close my eyes
And feel the cold between my sighs
Until my dreams take me far away
Even if broken wings hinder my way

I think of you, your smile, your embrace
And your ever welcome and peaceful face
And i'll know in my heart that in my numbered days
My heart will beat with yours least in my own ways

But how long will memories last?
How long can I bear my past?
When pain never stops, and my eyes always wet
Wouldn't I be redeemed in trying to forget?

    My strength comes from you
Yet a large part of my pain does too
    Memories, they fade
    As more bloodshed is made

I know I just can't rely on memories forever
Soon they'll fade and leave me no better
Forgotter, forgotten as I'll always be
Memories, however beautiful, can't last for eternity

Still, I'll carry you with me
I don't care if pain won't stop devouring me
I don't want to forget even if in exchange for happiness
For it is when i'm with you I could be with the rest

    Well...?

Here are two of mine. I'd really like feedback...

    Snow Sonnet
Snow falls gently, chilling the air
White ebbs and flows against dark sky.
Wrapped in a close embrace there,
The world seems to cease its hectic cry.

    A moment passes, blissfully slow
    As flakes dance carelessly, windswept,
And, as inexorably as the snow,
The pair must bid adieu, bereft.

A sent-out heart speeds the journey along,
Wishing safe passage and swifter return.
For in the parting does the heart grow fond
And the sweetness of reunion it does not spurn.

And until next time empty arms make hearts bolder
From now till nevermore will love?s flames smolder.

    To Her: My Mother
I sought your face again today.
I hugged myself and felt the fear.
I felt the tears on my face and to repay.
I wanted you to fix it or just reappear.

You are gone forever, I know this.
You are silent, I never hear your voice.
You don?t hold my hand or my tears kiss.
You left me, though not by your choice.

And some nights I?ll always be completely alone.
And some days I?ll never think of you.
And sometimes I?ll feel completely grown.
And sometimes I?ll seek your missing arms anew.

I still long to see what cannot be seen and touch what cannot be touched.
You are still in my memories and my heart although you are fading much.

    The Warlord

    The warlord was prying;
    His troopers were dying
    But not Lord Haart.
    He made killing an art;
    The warlord's commander was he.
    His legions of monsters
    Could not match Count Worster's.
    The two met in battle;
    Far more than a prattle
    Worster slew a troll
    Lord Haart knifed a gnoll.*
The two met for a dual.
    Their armies without fuel;
    They drew their kris*
And make each other like cheese of Swiss.
    Both heroes were no more,
The warlord was arrested by Lord Moore.
And in the township of Ked,
    He soon lost his head
And the war was finally over.

*A gnoll is a hyena cross human, a kris is a kind of wavy Malayan dagger.

Well, I suppose I'll share a poem or two here. Both of these can be seen on Fanfiction.net under the author name "Theerah", of course.

The first one is about an unnerving obsession with a Star Wars toy... ;-)

    Idolatry

    A candle glows
A tiny remnant of the inferno that destroyed and created you
Your figure stands before it, silent
For the past does not speak
And words cannot come from an imagined mouth.
    "My Lord," I address you,
And my head bows slightly as if your painted eyes can see.
Reflected fire makes believe you live.
It dances across your gleaming black armor,
    Your impossible weapon,
The helmet at your feet, removed to reveal your weary countenance.
I almost dare not touch you
    Lest I show some disrespect.
I gaze on you, adoring you as you are,
My empathy running much too deep
    I seek to understand you,
    Even to feel your pain,
    Your rage,
    Your passions.
So it has been since childhood.
What is this madness, why do you haunt me so?
Motionless, your figure does not answer.
I am talking to a toy
As if somehow, my words could conjure you
As if somehow, my reverence could make you real.
    --------

The second one is about a dream I had once about Emperor Palpatine. It was creepy as all heck on a stick. Also available on fanfiction.net:

    The Conductor

    I was his marionette
    Made to dance
    Suspended by his dark chords
A sinister cadence swam in his eyes
    As he commanded the strings
That tightened round the dissonant consummation
    Of light and shadow
    The timbre of his voice
    Deepened and expanded within me
    His hands
Conducted electric scales snaking to my core
Gathered my fear to a furious pitch
And orchestrated the arousal of Chaos
    Until finally
    With one thunderous note
    The illusion collapsed
And he wished me to dance no more

Okay I have another one I wrote about a situation I witnessed years ago when I was working at a movie theatre.

    Hit and Hug

It was a cold loud echoing lobby
The lobby gleams with pink, white and blue neons
The smell of Popcorn absorbs the air at a choking rate
Reflections of the sun sparkling through the front entrance
Reflections of myself in the glass from across and above

An ordinary day of routine and more routine
    Ticket after ticket
    The customers walk by
    Some say hi
    and some even say goodbye
some call me by my name
others say who is to blame
It is an assembly line of people
    routine and more routine
    ticket after ticket

I glance outside to the chilly afternoon day
I grasp a ticket in hand
I sound like a robot yet again
I see a figure crossing the road
It's a woman about 20 or so with her Beau
I tear into the ticket and what do I see
A dark blue Volkswagen streaming her way
The sound of screetching tires and a real loud thud
As my eyes lit up in terror and amazement
The women crashed to the ground as
    her beau became hysterical
    she bounced right back up
the driver jumped out as well
and they began to hug for all was well.

That is right. It's a boring ordinary day ripping tickets as a theatre usher and I glance out the front to see a woman get hit by a Volkswagen. Then out of all things she gets right back up and hugs the driver of the car. No police, no lawyers nothing. It was amazing in this day and age, because I would have been a witness to this in a lawsuit hearing along with about 5 others.

    Title: Jack
    Author: Elizabeth May
    Finished: 1-21-02 11:40 PM

    Daddy never loved me.
    He told me so himself.
    He might have been kidding,
but 'I hate you' is not
    something you say daily
    to a five-year-old child.

    Mommy never loved me.
    Overbearing, protective...
    all faked
all with the hope that no one would see through her facade
    to her hate and indifference.

I am Jack's need of support,
I am Jack's lack of love
    lack of hope
    lack of life.

    I am Jack's inferiority complex
    nurtured by a lonesome life.
I am Jack's nights of tears
    funneled by grief
    and a desperate hope
    that hopes for love-
    one day.
    One day
    One day, it will come.
    And it will be glorious.

I wondered if this would pick up.

    Reptile Sky

    I walk home, soft light
    cascading down from the
    Night?s eye.

And I notice the old foe,
arcing its way across the velvet Midnight.

    Slithering with grace
    it obscures the face of
    the Moon.

    The thick serpent,
coils long, grooved with a thousand years
    of God?s

    tears, joy and Creation,
    strikes.

The Snake Cloud has again eclipsed the bright Moon.

    I look upon the clash,
Letting the grey, ashen light fall
    to me.

    Time and the cloud pass,
the light regains its lost luster
    and shines on.

But another night is just a day away.

    Cracked Doors

    Through cracked doors
    I see your eye
    look at my eye.

    We see the differences.

    Between frame and door
    I glimpse your life
    and you catch mine.

Our eyes dart to what we want.

    Green radiation bombards each door,
demanding without words what the seeker wants,
more than the other will give.

But still the desire will remain.

Envy is a four letter, colored word for
?give me that or I?ll hit you so hard (!!!)?
and we?re both shooting it at each other.

    Through cracked doors,
    I see your life
    I see your green
    for the first time reflecting,
    like a mirror,
    my own.

And I close the door to
    let go of my color.

These were written by a friend of mine, and she gave me the thumbs-up to share them with you nice folks.

    Untitled

Many languid hours are spent thinking,

    Alone.

My thoughts and I in a constant duel.

Then, reality saunters in and I know that I have lost.

Falling bittersweetly away from all that I have known.

    **********

    Raise Me Higher

For you I would walk to the ends of the earth and back.

I would cry my every tear and spare my last dime.

Anything for your hopes and dreams,

    Anything for your smile.

I would raise you on the highest pedestal,

    Knowing that no matter what,

    You would raise me higher.

    **********

    Miss Me Always

Don?t tell me you miss me "on some lonely nights."

Tell me you miss me when you wake up,

    When you watch TV,

    When you eat dinner,

But please don?t tell me you miss me "on some lonely nights."

Tell me you miss me when your eyes are open,

    When you talk,

    When you breathe,

But do not say "I miss you on some lonely nights."

    **********

    His Broken Heart

Pieces falling one by one -

    A bar room floor.

    Broken dreams.

    Shattered light.

    Today she left him.

    Drowning pain with substance ?

    The bottom of another bottle.

    Happy hour.

    Loud music.

    Tomorrow he will cry.

    Pulling himself together ?

    Finding faith within.

    Caring friends.

    Renewed hope.

Picking up the pieces of his broken heart.

    **********

    What I Know of Life

    I?ll laugh and I?ll cry.

    I?ll live and I?ll die.

These things in life I know are true.

    But ?

What I?ll do and where I?ll go.

What I?ll see and who I?ll know.

These things I won?t know until I?m through.

    Dispair

Darkness surrounds me, there is no light
I want to escape, yet I do not fight
I'm forced down onto broken knees
I writhe in pain yet no one sees
I'm chained down to the ground
No help wanted, no help found
These chains are the chain of fate
Forged by sorrow, and bent by hate

There is a light that I see
I rub my eyes, "can this be...?"
The light tells me that I shall be ok
With my deamons I turn away
I feel like I am going to cry
Why am I damned, I wonder why

I wanted to share some Jelaluddin Rumi with you all.

Don't go to sleep one night
What you most want will come to you then
Warmed by a sun inside, you'll see wonders.

    ---

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing.
There is a field. I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
    doesn't make any sense.

    ---

The minute I heard my first love story
I started looking for you, not knowing
    how blind that was.

    Lovers don't finally meet somewhere.
They're in each other all along.

Untitled - by Laurie R. Birdsong

my heart leaps among the pleiades
and i supp on milky whey
with neptune there to hold me high
    i usher in the day!
at night i primp and comb my hair
and find a billion stars live there...
and delighted as they are to leave
until i comb again, i grieve.

to the tree tops, she floats on breezes,
    left behind by busy bees's
with a twinkle in her eye
(by Gods! that girl can fly!)
swinging by on rays of light
into the sky, then out of sight... YES!
    but for a moment only
it is quite enough to know what pleasures feathers have of flight... and birds...

    then back down she sways,
until her feet find Earthly greeting
the cool blades of the greenest grass tickle her toes while meeting...
for a moment erect, Saluting Goddess darling
she then tucks herself into a ball
    and somersaults into the pool
where she puts a crown of flowers on her head
    "My Queen... We are beautiful."

(Sorry, that's the best I can do off the top of my head (I don't have any of my poems with me right now. I'll come back sometime in future and post some damn good poetry though. :D)

Good, somebody brought back a very good thread. Here is a litle some thing i wrote a while ago:

    I fear the darkness
I fear that it will eat me alive
The loneliness is al around me
I try to fight it but you cant
    fight a faceless enemy
Where do these lies come from
Why do I fall prey to them
I have done nothing to deserve this

When i look around me i see the ones that I hate and none that I love
The one that i ever loved is the cause of my loneliness and the one that gave birth to the darkness that i fear
Too long hatred has been a friend of mine
but it is a friendship that is not easely broken
You can ry to fight it but everytime you long for its presence again
    I know i do

    Runfastrunrunfast
    Then get to the ceremony
    .....................walk walk walk
    Sit and wait.
    ......Speeches taking
    ................so
    ................very
    ................long
Call your name. Walk walk walk.
    Get your fake reward.
    Then
    .....wait
    .....wait
    .....wait
Two weeks for the real and true thing.
