As long as someone doesn't choose a Pixar film, I'm good.

    I'm partial to Aladdin myself.

You don't like Pixar films? Finding Nemo? The Incredibles?

Good movies, to be sure, but they're not even in the same hemisphere as The Lion King.

I like 'em fine; I just think they're grossly overrated.

They're the same films Disney was making for 50 years before all that computer animated stuff came about. That in itself isn't a bad thing (how varied can kids' movies be, anyway?), but a lot of the people who push the "greatness" of Pixar flicks seem to think they were somehow revolutionary in other aspects besides the animation style.

Oh. Ok. I'll agree that they weren't individually spectacular just because of their storylines, if that's what you mean.

Well, the style of humor and characterization had also been done before in traditional Disney films (such as Aladdin).

Better executed than most disney films, though...

Yeah I think Beauty and the Beast is the best. Lion King runs it very close, though.

The era of Disney films from around 1987(the little Mermaid) to about 2002(Lilo and Stitch), hold a special place in my heart. Though, I do enjoy a lot of the older, classic, Disney films as well.

    Beauty and the Beast
    Aladdin
    The Little Mermaid
    The Lion King

IMO, whilst Disney made some other good animated films, these four are the best by a considerable margin.

    Everton is correct.
    I have a degree.

Lilo & Stich is also a great film. (not so much the sequels)

The reason Pixar rules is because they put the detail and attention in their films the way Disney USED to.
That's why John Lassiter is head of the ship now at Disney.
He got his start at Disney, he just never gave up the dream when Eisner did.

I agree completely. I also agree that the 90's were a boon for great animated film-making. That said, I don't like your oder at all!

    My order:

    The Lion King
    Beauty and the Beast
    Aladdin
    The Little Mermaid

And there's very little space between them all. :)

If I were to list, I'd switch Lion King and Beauty and the Beast around. I agree with the other two.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you prefer Beauty and the Beast? I realize you're not saying the The Lion King is bad, but that Beauty and the Beast is better. I'm just curious as to why.
