The Jedi Academy Trilogy

Once again I come here to seek your answers. I recently finished reading the Jedi Academy Trilogy and I, Jedi and had a few comments and quetions...

1) There is a mention of the Ressurected Emperor...

I haven't read any X-WIng books and wanted to know if this happned in Isard's Revenge or did I miss something?

2) Luke was captured byt the Emperor. When did that happen?

3) Luke has the title of Jedi Master for the first time (I think). Did he just decide to call himself a Master or did he earn the rank some other way?

4) When did the World Devastator Machines appear? Is this related to the EMperor and possibly the X-WIng series?

6) Luke finds Streen on Bespin, Tibannopolis. But it is an abandoned City. How did Luke know to look there?

7) Where did Luke meet Kam Solusar?


Some comments I wanted to say.

I thought it was great how Momaw Nadon made an appearance, the first time I think he was mentioned since tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina

The part about Jacen fighting with Luke's Lightsaber I thought was pretty silly. I know luke was there to guide him but that's still pretty weird to me...

I find it hard to believe the Gorgon escaped the destruction from the SUn Crusher although it's a little believeable since it is terribly damaged

I don't believe the Sun Crusher could not be destroyed in Yavin's Core. I though nothing would be able to survive in the Gas Giant...


Lastly, Is there a list of ALL the characters who were training at the Academy?

I dont think Cray was one of the originals. Kyle and Nichos sound right though.

IMO, one of the best comics dark horse ever put out. The first part anyway.

 

Luke becomes a Master when he begins to teach. It seems that that is how all Masters become Masters in the EU... Luke taught at the academy, Mara taught Jaina, Kyp taught Miko, etc.

Dark Empire is horrible. read it if you want, but you are better off buying the essential chronlogy.

 

Dark Empire was the greatest Star Wars comic series that there could be. More action then most of the books and a good plot. Dark Empire II was not really that good i think, its too redundant.

 

Possibly farlander added to the list, considering he is a jedi accorind to the NJO insider article.

But it's true kyle katarn was said to be first year student in the Essential Chronology.

 

Don't forget to add Corran Horn/Kieran Halcyon to your list of first year students. He wasn't mentioned in the Jedi Academy Trilogy, but the series was revisited (and done mush better) by Michael A. Stackpole in his book "I, Jedi". This book will give you a much clearer idea of what the Praxeum's training is like and the troubles involved in setting up a curriculum.

 

Howlrunner, Keiran/Corran is already there, but didn't Nichos go at the same time as Cray?

 

One of Luke's first-year students was an Anx, if that helps.

To answer your question regarding Luke calling himself a Jedi Master, I suggest you reread the chapter in book 1 "Jedi Search", just before Luke is about to plead his case to the Council to build a praxeum.

I believe that says something like "He had been through trials more intense than normal Jedi and had earned the title of Master". Something to that effect.

 

Of course, Mara gets on his case about it in VOTF.
