    The Kwymar Piracy Incidents

    Imperial HoloNet News
Anti-Piracy Task Force to be Deployed to Kwymar

Vendara System -- Regional Moff, Omar Ulysses officially requested yesterday that the Imperial Government in Coruscant provides additional military forces to the Kwymar Sector to combat the recent increase of piracy attacks.

In the last six months, eighty-four vessels have been confirmed as hijacked by pirates, operating from remote bases in the Kwymar sector; with many crews killed and nearly eight hundred million Imperial credits of goods stolen. Regional transportation companies say the attacks have been occurring closer and closer to major spaceports and planets due to a lack of military presence in the area.

Following the Clone Wars, the region has grown increasingly lawless and His Imperial Majesty, Supreme Emperor Palpatine has tasked the matter of bringing order to Moff Ulysses, following the removal of the former Moff Palos last month. The Moff had previously stated that additional military assets would be required to complete the task, before yesterday?s formal request.

As of an hour ago, Moff Tarkin authorized the deployment of three new Victory-class Star Destroyers to the region. The mighty warships, equipped with the latest in sensor technology, and carry dozens of star fighters, will be used to seek out and eliminate the pirate threat and secure the region for the New Order.
    Rochester Depot
Deep Space outside of Telos System

Out beyond the last planet of the Telos system, where the planetoids roam in the frozen darkness; a small scrapped together space station, with a Techno Union Hardcell as the core, drifted silently. Surrounded by various merchant vessels, moored to the station with energy chains, the base is the central hub for piracy in the region. The location is a guarded secret by the criminal factions that operate here and the crew?s inside are some of the most cutthroat in the region.

The base is home to two main crews: those of the converted merchant vessel Stille Nacht; and the frigate Apoptygma, a former Trade Federation Munificent-class. The two crews are rivals, yet often work in conjunction to attack guarded convoys. When back at Rochester, however, bloody fights are known to erupt between the crew members. Several other crews frequented the region in their smaller vessels as well.

Word of the impending Imperial deployment reached Rochester Depot just as the Stille Nacht returned from a raid on an Imperial supply convoy near Telos V. She returns with several hundred crates of Imperial military equipment and a few dozen prisoners to be ransomed.
Welcome to Kwymar Piracy Incidents. The premise of the game is to play the bad guys. While a few might choose to play the ?pirate with a heart of gold?, most the characters and interactions will be with the most ruthless sentients in the galaxy. To further the story, the enemy will be more bad guys (I.e., Imperial Forces). The rebel alliance is not a force in this game (or present as of yet), though some pirate might hold ideological hatred for the Imperials.

The game is set just after the Clone Wars, so the vessels well known in the original trilogy are not in production. Most equipment and ships available will be surplus from the Clone Wars.

The game will be centered around mostly social interaction, with combat and action sequences expected throughout. While this is not intended to be a PotC game in space, the nostalgia of 17th century piracy is welcome in characters.

I will be driving the story, providing information to the crews about new targets; playing the Imperial forces as well as NPC pirate vessels to diversify the story. The players drive their character?s fate, however. If a target is posted, the captain (if a player) can choose to take it or not and the action of one crew member can decide the fate of the others. These are dangerous skies at the edge of the galaxy.

We are now open for the submission of character sheets!

I took the idea of the waiting period from Sarge221. I believe that was a good idea to give some time to think about the game for those who first see it.

NOTE: Under affiliation it should read: ?(Stille Nacht, Apoptygma or independent)?. Kusari was a name I thought about using when I first drafted the game. My apologies for not correcting that.

And here are the first character sheets of my own, to provide a template for those of you building sheets. I?ll be using these characters to move the story along in various ways. As I said, lots of ?bad guys? in this RPG. Presenting the commander of the Imperial task force seeking an Admiral rank; a violent crime boss, restricted to the edge of the galaxy and desperately holding onto his turf; a bartender with both an illicit history and terrorism ties; a trafficker turned ruthless pirate captain; and a military deserter.

Looking forward to seeing those character sheets!

We will be starting next weekend if all goes well?

NOTE: It has been brought to my attention that players might want to play other roles. If this is the case, please contact me. I would be open to Imperial and other characters as well if it would generate more interest.

    GM APPROVED

    Name: Aaray (Mando'a for pain)
    Crew Affiliation: Stille Nacht
    Position: boarding party
    Gender: Male
    Age: 30
    Species: Yuzzem
Personality: Usually fairly quiet. Lets his actions speak rather than using a lot of words. Fierce in battle.
    Appearance
    ---Skin Color: Black, under Fur
    ---Hair Color: Brown
    ---Eye Color: Black
    ---Clothing: modified Mandalorian Combat Suit
---Other Details: Stands about 2.5m and weighs about 165 kg
    Homeworld: Ragna III
Weapons: Vibro Ax, heavy repeating blaster, pulse wave pistol
Biography: Aaray originally grew up on Ragna III under the name Kav. When he was about 18 standard years of age, he left his homeworld for a more exciting life. Knowing that his physical attributes could be used by different sectors, Kav wandred the galaxy from planet to planet. Eventually he was hired by a corporation for security detail. Kav wasn't well paid, but no one messed with him either. Eventually the Separatist movement came about, and Kav's life changed.
No longer believing in the ideals of the Republic, Kav lost his job at the company. Angry, Kav went on a rampage, smashing the offices and taking out a number of security guards. Kav was lucky to escape, finally finding his way onboard a shuttle craft. Once again wandering from planet to planet, Kav was eventually recruited by a group of mercenaries. Showing his prowess on the battlefield, Kav's group fought against the Republic on different worlds. He eventually met up with a few Mando's, one of them commenting on how he looked like a mountain of aaray. After having it explained ot him, Kav decided to change his name to that. Fighting shoulder to shoulder with other Mandalorians, Aaray eventually had a custom Mandalorian Combat suit, with helmet, created for him. His presence on the battlefield quickly preceeded him, just the mere sight of the giant armored Yuzzem striking fear into most beings.
After the fall of the CIS, Aaray took other jobs as a merc, never wanting to let his battle readiness fall into shambles. He eventually heard that Ragna III was being controlled by the Empire, and the Yuzzem were being shipped off world as slaves. That news put Aaray over the edge. From that point on, he vowed to help cripple or destroy the Empire in any way he could. He now serves as a close quarters combat specialist on the Stille Nacht's boarding crew.
