The Dark Man IV - The Rescuers In Trouble

Lance pulled his Etas-2 Interceptor out of hyperspace, and looked around his cockpit. "Devil ETA to the atmosphere?" Lance asked, igniting his sublight drives, and pushed his acceleration to MAX, and then fired a turbo fuel cell, accelerating to a modest fraction of lightspeed.

{ETA = 1.24686122354646564 hours} Devil told him, and Lance cursed Bestine for having such a large mass shadow.

"Devil, I want you to reroute power from the shields and weapons to the drives," Lance ordered, and then looked at his screen where a number of bleeps were incoming, "What's that?"

    {Three V-Wing Starfighters} Devil explained.

"Okay, power up the guns, we'll take it to 'em," Lance nodded, and flipped his fighter towards the incoming fighters, and fired his retros, slowing the fighter down to attack speed.

{Negative, All power has been rerouted to the drives. Begin backtracks. Will take 15 min} Devil explained.

"Yes!" Lance cried, and then thought of his options. His only hope was that Larwene and the Y-Wing would arrive soon.

He engaged his s-foil-wing tips, and then dived into the incoming starfighters, slamming on the acceleration, and drawing on the Force. He used his undeveloped powers to nudge a directional vane in one V-Wing's engine nozzle, and it spun out of control for a few kilometers until the pilot got the vanes rearranged.

The other two formed up on his tail and began firing green lasers into his vessel. His armor popped, cracked, and boiled as it blocked the incoming energy attacks. But soon no armor would be left to take the damage, and his hull would take the full blows. It was already straining under the intense heat generated by the melting armor.

    {Hyperspace window detected. Two vessels coming out} Daredevil explained, {A Y-Wing and a YT-1300. ETA to us = 2.4654 hours. Strange gravitic anomalies detected.}

"What in the Force's name is going on with the gravity here?" Lance demanded as he suddenly lost control of his port engine, and it began to spin his vessel in irregular patterns.

Reaching out with the Force, he felt that a stray laser had melted, fused, and vaporized the thrust vanes inside his engine nozzle. "Sithspawn!"

He reached in with the Force and traced the computer system to the master board; a computer board used during repairs and such to test different things and do things that werenÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢t usually done without astromech hacking. Once there he toggled it until he got the command code he needed. He activated it, and his fighter stopped spinning as all power was cut from that engine and rerouted into weapons. He still had no shields though.

He flipped his limping fighter up on one end, and pulled the trigger, sending laserfire deep into the sheildless fighter's hull, burning off large metal chunks.

Sarh slammed her fist into the slave bringing them food, and he fell unconscious to the floor. She looked around at the other prisoners in her cage. There was Agent Sal, huddled in a corner to stay warm. The strange ARC Trooper stood silently in the middle of the room, eyeing the downed slave. Around the room also were three other men; one of the men was an Imperial scientist, put into prison after his thoughts about a project proved opposite the local Moff's feelings, while the

    Thanks.

And an update for the future of the Lance Flir Series. The next part of this series, the trillogy 'The Jedi ARC Trooper', will take place three months post-this event. But don't worry, you will eventually learn what happened after this chapter throughout the future installments. As well as Lance's trainign in the Force, and his Dark Side Unleashed....hmmm. Possibly....

    Please RR everyone!

Poor Lance, he?d have been justified in thinking that it would have been as easy to route the power back to the weapons and shields as it was to route it away from them. :)
Did like the idea of nudging the engine vanes of the opposing fighters with the Force.

Also liked the scene with the slave, a nice double twist of the slave having been meant to have been attacked and then that ?slave? being shot by Cody.

Felt sorry for the Stormtrooper with the loudspeaker, shows why it is a better idea to just come in shooting and keep on shooting rather than giving ?Rebel scum? a chance to surrender.

Nice efficient entrance by Lance into the complex. His reaction to missing shooting a (non-combatant) scientist seemed a little extreme (if he reacts this strongly to this then I wonder what he?d have done if he?d had a mother and if she?d been tortured to death :p) but at least since the helmets hide the mess this is still PG rated. :)

...Was it graphic? I didn't mean to go over PG...

-A series involvign Larwene Flir up to and into the Lance Flir series
