ST The Last Jedi Blu-Ray/DVD (US dates: March 13th Digital and March 27th Blu-Ray/DVD)

4k is going to be awesome - suggest anyone who doesn't have 4k to upgrade as it's most impressive......

 

So lemmie get this straight, the only way I can get a Blu Ray/DVD combo would be to get the Best Buy steelbook edition, cuz it looks like the "Multscreen format" is only blu ray discs. So if I want a DVD and Blu Ray, Best Buy is it?

(I'm Canadian and Target don't exist no mo up here)

 

I can see the point, but this is the only Star Wars steelbook where I've liked the cover. In fact, I wish that they'd used this cover for the main release instead.

 

What I want to know is why Leia is only in the beginning of that trailer and then nothing???

 

Reserved a copy today at the Disney store and got a set of free lithographs

Also, I find it interesting that the home release trailer outright spoil several things. I know the film has been out for a while and pretty much all of us have seen it but I think of those who haven't yet and see this trailer.

 

Yeah, the TFA one did spoil some things and that reasoning makes sense, but still, partially showing a couple of character deaths in this one (one undecided though) seem a bit excessive.

 

I got a $50 gift card from Amazon for Christmas. I'm going to use that to get this so I don't have to give them any more of 'my' money.

 

Cool to see that there is a 3D + 2D option for Scandinavia.

I hate how our local Disney distributor forces every single Disney movie to have separate 2D and 3D versions.

 

Is the 3d Blu ray an international-only release right now? I didn't see it included in the US options. Or am I blind?

 

That's my question. First, is it being released in the US, and second, will any of the international 3D versions play on US Blu Rays? I have a PS4, so I don't know if that makes a difference with region coding, or if any of that impacts things.

There are listings online for the 3D version saying region free.

I wonder how difficult it is for Disney to keep the default cover with a single character portrait on the Steelbooks. Why change it for TLJ?

Just put a big picture of Luke, Snoke or Kylo, and there you go.

 

Or just copy the Rey steelbook other countries have.

At least the steelbook looks nice. It will make a fine addition to my collection!

You're a strange one. I bought Phantom Menace on VHS back in the day, but I have never bought any of the prequels on DVD or Bluray. I don't buy films I don't like, sounds simple enough, but why buy a film that you hate so vehemently? You can use that gift card to buy something else entirely.

 

Yeah, as soon as I get the Blu-ray I've watching these scenes immediately. Then it's onto the other special features.

 

Two reasons:

1. I've only seen it once, and there are some things I need to go back and view again, and
2. Mark Hamill, in spite of the material he was given, is still Mark Hamil.

I plan to watch it all the way through one more time. After that? I may never pick it up again. It's $25 and not even my money.

 

Do not try to justify how you hate TLJ so much that you found a way to not give money to Disney. That is just stealth bashing.
