It was close, but Jason won out like a pro. I'm still proud to have been the runner up.

    Congratulations to the victor!

Alas, I have other projects to attend to.

Hint: I'm psyching myself up for a panel, drooling over this marvelous Bib Fortuna statue at Comic-Con. I hear it's one of an ongoing series.

Psyched that Jason got this break - he certainly deserved it. I will definitely be buying this one day one.

He's writing a novel?! And its the TLJ novelization?! Yay! [face_party] Guess I'll have to go pick up that book after I see the movie then (had been planning to skip it after how the TFA novelization was).

Happy to have interviewed Jason several times over at ETE and gotten him the extra publicity that undoubtedly made this happen.

Congratulations to Jason, this is huge, even in SW-terms. I think he's done so well with different types of SW literary works they want him to tackle an actual novelization now. :D

Wonder how much EU lore he can sneak in where appropriate? Order of the Terrible Glare, an elaboration on the Legions of Lettow?

Seriously, though, I don't know how I can properly portray my excitement over this through text.

Just Weapon of the Jedi alone is all that I needed to know Fry is exactly the man to be writing this book.

Just echoing the boundless happiness that's been expressed here. It was only a matter of time before Jason got to do a full novel, and what better than such a tentpole story. :)

Pretty sure the Order of the Terrible Glare should now be treated as the same as the Ordu Aspectu.

Thank you all for the kind words -- really excited to dig into a wonderful story. (And glad I made it to the reveal without messing up and letting anything slip!) Not much I'm allowed to add right now, but please keep watching this space.

Yeah, but he already wrote it into canon, just with no big details. Maybe they'll be competing sects or something. Or they do the right thing and allow the Pius Dea storyline back into canon. :D

Well, if any of the Jedi lore-related leaks from the past year are correct and will be in the film itself, I'll be very interested in seeing you handle that material.

I love the novelization for TFA, but its entirely another thing when a veteran SW author well versed in the lore of the universe writes a novelization. Jason writing this is truly the coolest thing since Matt Stover wrote the novelization for ROTS. :D

Congratulations, Jason! I'm sure this must be a proud moment for you. I think that it's a reflection of your talents as an author (to say nothing of your wonderful dorkery) that this announcement of you writing a full-length adult novel got me excited about what you might get tapped to write in future, to say nothing of now. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come (Not that I'm unhappy with all the books you're currently working on, which I'll definitely be ordering).

At the risk of pre-empting the decision, I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say I look forward to welcoming Star Wars: Xim the Despot and its roughly 400 pages to canon in 2019/20 depending on the publishing schedule. :p
