Has there been any clarification as to what planet Luke's jedi academy is on?

I wondered if it was Dantooine, but I haven't seen anything about it.

I keep seeing people post that Admiral Ackbar died off screen.

He did not. He is literally sitting at his post and can be seen over Leia’s shoulder in the scene where the missiles strike the bridge and Leia is sucked out into space.

She isn't random though in that sense not like Yoda, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Mace etc. Random like Anakin though even far more specific in terms of being guided by the Force as you mention. It's a far more specific direction. So basically if Anakin had been so specifically positioned by the Force to destroy the Sith. Rey is more an instrument of the Force with no tangible will of her own as far as we can tell. Anakin's choices were distinctly his own while with Rey we really can't be sure that is the case as she get's directives that take her to one path or another as the situations requires.

I need a clarification about the lightspeed jump.
How precise is the destination point? In TFA it seems that there is an uncertainty due to the deceleration distance. However, in other movies, like TLJ and RO, the ships look super accurate in the position where they finish their jump.

Depends on the navi-computer in the movies. The Falcon's is really good. You don't want to get too close to anything coming out but presumably you can be very accurate if needed but that is a special case by case. It's all about taking time to do it.

Does DJ establish for the first time in a SW movie that people in GFFA write in normal English?

I don't remember to have seen it anywhere else.

Where was written English in TLJ? I'm not trying to make a point; I just don't remember seeing it.

Anyway, technically ANH originally had English text in it before it was changed in the SE (or maybe it was the 2004 DVDs?).

Is that in English? I honestly didn't notice it in the movie, but I thought it was supposed to be in Aurabesh.

I remember that I actually read it, so it must have been in English. I'm not fluent in Aurebesh ;)

EDIT: oh, I'm afraid you are right instead. Apparently, it is written in Aurebesh.
    My bad.

There IS now a canon source for written English in Star Wars though. One of the marvel comics last year had a scene in a casino, and the corner-cutting artist had clearly used a template roulette table (as I recall) compete with english words, and had simply skewed the image to be used as the roulette table in the panel, with english still visible, so I guess English is canon.

I never quite understood this....I'm pretty sure every single jedi besides Luke didn't have "esteemed" parentage.

Technically Anakin's mother was a nobody...just a slave on tatooine.

And I would love clarification on one facet of the story... Did anyone in the resistance even witness Luke's actions???

Which actions? They're watching him walk out to face the First Order. I don't know how long they watch, but they know what he's doing in general.

If you mean during the end of the movie when Luke faces Kylo, then yes, Poe even considers that Skywalker is stalling the First Order for them to escape.

Something I’ve been wondering for a while: Was Kylo projecting himself into the hut with Rey like Luke on Crait or what was happening there? If it was just a mental communication, how did Luke see it? That scene is really confusing to me.

Rey and Kylo had a mind and spiritual connection, with a physical element.

When Kylo is having the first connection to Rey, for example, nobody else inside the First Order spaceship corridor was seeing her. Only him.
From Rey's point of view, she sees Kylo and nobody else sees him, even Luke didn't, supposedly because he was closed to the Force.

When Luke sees Rey and Kylo at the same time, he was already feeling something was very wrong. He was desperate trying to find Rey, as if he felt something bad was happening, which in fact was true, as Rey just returned from the dark side cave.

So, in his heightened state of spirit and having re-established his connection to the Force (as he exploded the hut while screaming "STOP"), Luke was able to see Kylo.

The final fight is a whole different animal. In that fight, Luke makes a projection where everyone, including non-Force users, can see him.

    Hi,
Can anyone clarify for me a how Kylo Ren escapes destruction in his TIE during his attack run on the Raddus' hangar?
I seem to remember he flies through the door and down a considerably long tunnel before launching his missiles and blowing the
ships inside apart. Poe gets blown back up against the far wall. The way it's shot doesn't seem to leave any chance that Kylo, going at
the velocity he was, would be able to escape the resulting conflagaration unharmed.

I always, for my personal enjoyment, try to have things make sense in my head, even if it sometimes requires a lot of mental gymnastics, here I am struggling. I suppose maybe if he turned on a dime and his ship had amazing shields? Still, for some reason the physics of that scene bother me.

Now that I think about it, I would also have assumed that the inner entrance to the hangar would have had shields to keep the vacuum out, shouldn't they have stopped the missiles? Maybe people who know more about the configuration of the ships can provide reasonable answers?

It may even be Snoke projecting it so that Luke can see it. Until that moment, Luke is thawing towards Rey. Seeing Kylo there is what prompts Luke to put his armour up again and is ultimately what drives Rey to Snoke. But, yes, good point. Could also be that Luke sees it once he's tuned back into the Force again.
