***The Lightsaber Choreography Contest Begins***

What a trek through the abyss it was to get the final effects in our video and to get it rendered. Before this weekend I was ready to shoot another one of these immediately, now... I think I need the year off Can't wait to see all the entries though. At least I didn't suffer alone, Whiteley had similar problems.

Did anyone else use CS4 Premiere and After Effects for their fight and have a nightmarish time with it?

 

I think it has hit fifteen entries and with that, there should be a 4th and 5th place.

 

FYI gentlemen, for those who are entering next year please be advised that two of the entries came close to having a poor Story to Choreography ratio where the story almost ran longer than the Choreography. Let's just watch this for future reference.

One entry had a story that went on longer than the Choreography but ONLY by a few seconds and I will not disqualify the entry entirely for a couple of seconds and I'm sure many of you will agree. So I'll let that one go.

Oh no-no, its very real. I can't imagine the workload of having to fake DoF in an entire fight.

 

Twenty-eight in LCC3, though one was disqualified.

To fake good DOF in AE will take forever to render even on the best PC or Mac. So no, I assure you this is real.

Haha! I definitely agree. If someone could pull off some inventive stuff like that in live-action I would totally be down.

 

yes it is great. So excited for it. however, since it is closer I am more excited to see everyone's entrys. Good luck to all I know it was a lot of work for all the entrys and I wish everyone the best.

I think you may have misunderstood my comment.
I meant just the hand. The blurred background looks good.
You could easily have thrown a feathered blur on it to add more depth.
