    Well, gang, it took a bit longer than we all thought to set this up, but now you can finally vote on your favorite of the results from the little saber method pic contest between DorkmanScott, PixelMagic and myself started over in this thread.

    Just to make sure this is clear, both 'a' pics are by the same artist, as are both 'b' and 'c' pics. And I assigned us all these letters completely randomly, so don't try to find any logic to it or anything. Also, we all agreed not to incorporate emitter flares into these pics, so don't ask why we didn't do them. :p

    Let the voting begin! :)

    Version 'A'
    [image=http://www.zenvideo.net/ryan_w/temp/a.jpg]

    Version 'B'
    [image=http://www.zenvideo.net/ryan_w/temp/b.jpg]

    Version 'C'
    [image=http://www.zenvideo.net/ryan_w/temp/c.jpg]

    Edit: Just noticed kind of a cool thing to help you decide if you are looking closely. Click one so it opens in a new window, then change the URL to be 'a' 'b' or 'c'. Then use the back and forward buttons on your browser to jump back and forth.

    I voted C. The dropoff from the glow is very gradual, not abrupt. Looks the most "real".

    Decide, I cannot...

    I am the last person to say "lets play for fun" or "there shouldn't be a winner, we are all winners", but all of these are great... :)

    Bravo to you ALL for an awesome job on the pics...

    Well, after my head exploded trying to decide, the rest of my body made a collective decision, and managed to vote C. But MAN was that a hard choice. i have to go with the glow being the biggest factor, and even that is just BARELY better. I'd want any one of those three work on my projects. (Which is amusing because 2 of them did and i can't tell which they are. :) )

    When this competition is finished could someone tell me the method used for "B"? I would like to look at that and compare it to mine. Or can someone "on the inside" PM and let me know what method was used so I can find a tut on it?

    In my opinion, C is the best overall. The TPM pics all look really close, but in the close-up pic, C really stands out. I can't wait to find out what method was used for C.

    Can we do a moving lightsaber clip instead? The still pictures are neat, but it requires much more skill to roto a small fight and thats what I want to do! Vraawww! :)

    And also can you announce it to everyone next time so we all can try? Make sure to leave plenty of time to compete too! I have a life and a full time job outside thease fourums and need extra time to compete.

    SWmaster

    PS: Just a question, are competitions like this going to bleed into the film making? I don't want someone telling me that frame 356 of my lightsaber battle needed a little more glow and that beacause of that my fan film is bad. :)

    Hey SW,

    We've already had a lightsabre competition a while ago, this is just a grudge match between the finalists :). The results of which are here

    Hate to break it to you buddy, but it's probably going to happen.

    When you have three images that look that good, what is the point in voting one above another?

    Bravo, good gentleman. Your sabers look very good and I applaud you. I just hope that I get a tutorial on the method that wins. ;)
