A day early some but right on time for others..........

This holiday is yours, but we all share with you the hope that this day brings us closer to freedom and to harmony and to peace.

No matter how different we appear we're all the same in our struggle against the powers of evil and darkness.

I hope that this day will always be a day of joy in which we can reconfirm our dedication and our courage and more than anything else our love for one and other.

This is the promise of the tree of life..........

:_| Princess Leia is such a beautiful speaker :_|

Happy Holidays to everyone, and to all a good night.:)

Happy Holidays all! So, what goodies did everyone get?

So far, I've primarily got a few Wii-related items (memory card, an extra wheel) and SW Robot Chicken on DVD. And a bunch of gift cards. Still have a few friends I'll be seeing later, though. Hopefully one will be a bookstore gift card to sue towards Mindor ;)

    Merry Christmas, all!

We're headed down to be with my dad's extended family in about an hour, which should be good. Hopefully get a chance to talk about Christmas actually having some meaning other than a hyper-secularized and hyper-commercialized excuse for gift-giving.

That whole Jesus, King of the world bit being more than a little important and all...

Hope you all are having a wonderful day!

Now onto far more important matters: Who here has just finished watching the Doc Who Xmas special?

I really really really wanted to see it, but my lovely parents decided to save money by getting rid of all out premium channels, so now I don't get BBC America. For that matter, I'm not even sure if it was aired on BBC America.

I only got one Star Wars gift this year, a copy of Classic Star Wars: The Early Adventures (Praise be to awesome Dad), but I got some other neat stuff including a pair of slippers that are unbelievably comfortable.

Merry Christmas to everyone on the Lit forum, and anywhere on the JC Forums. Enjoy the holiday, go easy on the eggnog, and spend some time with family on this day. Cheers!

Didn't get any SW-related gifts this year, my family insists I have too many books.

    :(

Merry Christmas (unless you're in the Eastern time zone or another country, in which case merry December 26th)!

Except for Battlefront for the PC, I got nothing SW, but I did get a Ruger Single six, which, except for the calibre, is basically the exact same gun as the .44 I got for my Dad.

    This amuses me.

P.S. Since we went to a range today to try out our gifts, I can tell you from first hand experience that when someone fires a .44 magnum, you can feel the concussion in your chest from fifteen feet away.

I don't like guns, but I don't want to have the guns vs swords debate again unless you guys want to.

Well, we have three options, as I see it: 1) we could both enjoy our respective tools of violent death, without raining on each other's weapon parade; 2) we could phrase it as a lightsabres vs. blasters debate; 3) we could use various derogatory names for each other, like "Nazi," "Communist," "Hippie," and "Hillbilly" while giving up all pretense of actual debate, maturity, or even basic dignity.

Personally, I'm for Option 2, with a liberal mixing of various elements of Option 3. [face_plain]

I got a great DVD haul (The Dark Knight, KOTCS, three Dirty Harry movies, and In Bruges), some gift cards, clothes, and other boring junk I asked for. And good times with the family. I hope everyone else had a good Christmas.

I got one DVD, Almost Famous and I asked for that.

I got the Pulp Fiction sound track though.

And as for guns and swords, I mentioned that as we had a similar argument a few months back in here.
