Wild Space and lots of Transformers Animated toys appeared under my tree:). Boxing day might bring more if I can locate an early copy of Mindor.

Hope you all had a good one.:)

Yes, we did. And I made a Pulp Fiction reference.

Because Bruce Willis+Katana+Deliverence-esque Hillbillies = Pure awesome.

Now, you may be asking yourself, "what does that have to do with anything?" The answer: absolutely nothing. I'm just rambling now. Rambling was pretty much the nature of my last post, too. Also, a bit of snark.

I've never been to a SF/F convention. What are fans like there?

Ex: It's a pretty small con - lot of gamers, fair number of costumers. There's pictures on the website from previous years...I think, lol.

To quote the Simpson's Comic Book Guy:
"Like Mos Eisley Spaceport, you'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than at a comic book or science fiction convention."

Ah okay. I was only asking because the one time I accidentally saw a book signing, with Neil Gaimon, there was a lot of people instore and some of them were sort of... I'm not being mean, but, ah, GEEKS! There was this couple who seemed to be discussing some trivial geek thing with an alarming amount of seriousness. I see the star wars costumes and the news articles when a movie come out, newspaper and tv, and it's given me this biased conception of sci fi conventions as convocations of geekdom.

Please tell me I'm wrong. Please! I don't know... I just the read the stuff. I don't go dressing up as Ser Lionel, the Laughing Storm, of House Baratheon, sworn knight of the Seven Kingdoms, just because I read The Hedge Knight comic. :p

See it and weep, Ex. This is at a Clone Wars viewing (plus we were raising money for a charity in Denver)

    re: Book signings...

Terry Pratchett's are the best - because of the sheer diversity of the people who'll be queuing up!

Panaka would be more appropriate, he was made Moff of Naboo IIRC.

But I wonder about those Jedi in the back row.

You know, we sound like a bunch of kids playing "Where's Wally?"
