'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' Score Discussion

Has anyone heard anything about The Two Towers music?
I'm thinking there will be some of the same music from FOTR, but I'm hoping there will be some new themes to it.
( Sort of like AOTC )

 

I haven't heard anything either, but I'd guess the same as you that some of the themes would be repeated.
I'd guess "Aniron: Theme for Aragorn and Arwen" is pretty much a given since it's outright labled as a theme, although maybe it will only show up in ROTK. Since TTT is darker than FOTR, there might not be much happy music like the hobbit theme...what a shame, that was my favorite on the soundtrack

Anyways, yah, I'm hoping the Hobbit Theme, Nazgul Theme, Isengard/Uruk-Hai Theme, and especially the Moth Theme return for TTT, and it makes sense that they would.

The ones that probably won't be making a return are the Love Theme and the Fellowship Theme.


As for new themes, all I'd really like is a Gollum/Smeagol Theme.

Anyways, I really hope The Moth Theme is in TTT.

 

It's a while since I read TTT but ... where should the Moth Theme be played?

Let's make sure to keep this thread SPOILER FREE for those of us who have not read TTT or ROTK. Personally I am looking forward to more epic arrangements of the Second Age theme and of course the Fellowship theme, which may not appear much.

Maybe there will be a new theme for the two towers... dunno.

 

I don't know where The Moth Theme should be played. It just should be.
And if I have an idea where, I can't tell you because Stri is all into his "spoiler free" thing.

stri, do we *REALLY* need this thing to be spoiler free? I mean, just go read the books. The last LOTR thread ("Lord of the Rings music... Gosh, I love it!") wasn't kept strictly to non-spoiler discussion.

Plus, this discussion could die REALLY fast if we can't talk about WHERE these different themes should be used in TTT because that would be a spoiler.

 

The Gollum theme should be great...but I'll miss the fellowship theme. It's my favorite on the soundtrack.

 

You know what will be a really spooky moment? When we first see the Nazgul on their flying steeds and the Nazgul Theme builds up the drama and fear as their shadow covers the land. It'll be spooky. [face_shocked]

 

There already is a Gollum Theme. On the FOTR soundtrack:

Track 1 - 2:13
Track 3 - 0:14
Track 3 - 2:14
Track 12 - 1:17

 

The Ents need a theme.

There is a Boromir/Gondor motif that appears briefly in Fellowship, in at least two places - in the film, though, but not the soundtrack. Once at the Council of Elrond, when Boromir stands up if I remember correctly - then again, when Boromir and Aragorn are conversing in Lothlorien. I strongly believe that this motif will be expanded upon as a theme for Gondor.

Um, why would the Fellowship theme disappear? I bet you anything they'll play it while the Three Hunters are chasing the Uruks.

 

I agree with Elfstar, the point of the fellowship is that though they are distant, they are not truly broken! Rock on

anyway, does anyone wonder why we have seen nothing of the Ents at all. No mention, nothing in the trailors... Hoom Hoom indeed. So, this could just be a cool visual surprise, or it could mean that they cut them... hope not. Has anyone heard anything about them? I think that a theme for them could be great! Especially if HS pulls it from the elvish themes we have heard.

The "Fellowship Theme" could very well return considering it isn't officially the "Fellowship Theme".

It could simply be the heroic theme of the entire saga.

 

Ah yes, we must remember that our fellowfriend stri over here has not yet read TTT.

Does anyone know if the video game is going to just have cues from the movie, or if someone is composing new arrangements? We may get some early TTT music when that comes out, seeing that the game is covering both movies.
