Infront of the ents lay a figure clad in sparkling white. "Mithrandir?" asked Silverleaf aukwardly. "Strange is this that he is white now and more so that he is not with the fellowship. No matter, the time for words will come later. Saruman's poison runs deep in the veins of King Theoden in the Golden Halls of Edoras. Only you can remove this." Silverleaf gave Gandalf his steed and he climbed up onto an Ent by the name of Quickbeam.

"We will accompany you to Edoras." said one of the Horse Lords to Gandalf. "Our King is in need of your healing."

 

Ireth looked at the him, "all right, but stay close behind me," than looking at Legolas and Leola, in elvish, "not a word," her voice was stern.

Legolas whispers to Leola, "my sister has a soft spot for hobbits," he grins.

Brief or In-depth Bio: Rekam is a Dunedain, and was born in the wild. He learned to live on his own, to hunt, and how to survive in the wild. He became a ranger, and wandered the wild and always looking for people to help. He has recently been wounded in battle with Saruman's orcs, and now he is wandering Fangorn Forest in search of someone who can help him.

Equipment: Has no helm, silver gauntlets, a black armor cuirass of boiled black leather, silver chainmail under the leather, silver boots, a short black hunting bow on his back, two small quivers of arrows on his shoulders, and a two-handed longsword with a black hilt and shining white blade. It is called, Shadowbane.

 

(As a battle feild GM, I will be initiating several skirmishes across the whole of Middle Earth. All players are highly encouraged to create NPCs to fight and die in these battles. The NPCs should fit into either the forces of darkness or light as described in the reports below.)


The Tides of Darkness Flow Forth

All across Middle Earth, battles erupt. Sauron and Saruman test the growing power of their war machine by unleashing orclings to do battle with the Children of Iluvatar.


The Harad Road

A Gondorian Strike Force intercepts a supply train of Easterling and Orcish warriors and equipment just North of the Crossing of Poros en route to Minas Morgul.

Uruk-Hai are attacking a farming community along the Great West Road, slaughtering all the inhabitants. The local defense force is being raised in an effort to buy time for the fleeing refugees.

Moria goblins, enraged at their losses in the mines, assault the Golden Wood's borders

IC as Rekam:

Rekam son of Jathar wandered the woods of Fangorn, going nowhere in particular. In his mind he could see the battle just as it took place.

I had just come into the clearing, when I saw the burning. Thousands upon thousands of tree's, and some Ents too, all put to the torch by Saruman. Damn him, the fool.

Nearly a score of his pestering orcs surrounded me, and that's when I drew Shadowbane.
The silver blade glowed white, and her fury was on them. I had taken out half of the orcs after they started shooting arrows. Three pierced my right arm, and one even managed to cut a dagger across my cheek.

I rub my chin and cheek, knowing the scar will last forever. That did not matter to me, only another mark of my pride and valor in combat. I must find help! I tell myself over and over again. Illuvetar will protect me,.

As I ran akwardly through the forest, I managed to stumble upon a company of elves, and...could it be? Yes, Ents! I see one elf, standing by a old man, which looks like me yet twice as old, and I ask them for help.

"Please," I say, praying he would listen. "You must help me!"

Allright, I am back from my extended absence due to computer induced errors. And I am very pleased with the amount of growth that this place has developed since I left. However, this in itself is a bit of a problem. I would like to ask, that everyone cease posting IC for the next 24-48 hours or so, so that the Gamemasters of the RPG can get fully caught up on the events that have occurred, and issue the necessary updates for those who need them.

I know its a strange thing to ask, however without this break it would be impossible for us to organize the various Battle Events that are about to occur, and to get caught up with what has happened. And it also offers all of the players a small break.

OOC- OOC Posts are still fine if you want to create a bio for a Skirmish NPC. I'll be able to organize the fights for everyone and be ready the second IC posts can start again that way.

 

OOC: Blue_10:...skirmishes also sound to me to be a good introduction to battlefield procedures for the major battle events. So here's my skirmish NPC character, for involvement in the "Fleeing refugees" skirmish in Rohan.
