    Oh, yeah. I love hearing the rain hitting the roof, especially when I'm in the attic (which is where we sleep now).

    I only hope the sheep get to stay dry. During the last storm, two hatches broke off and I couldn't get them attached again after that.

    Wow, is it always this stormy there in the summer Casper?

    Yeah, about two or three weeks (in total).

    It's quite dangerous to walk in the woods here when it storms like that. Branches just attack you from all sides. Rosie wanted to take a walk yesterday, and I said, "Are you mad?"

    Why do you have "BAN DUSHONI" in your sig, Tash?

    Everyone else was doing it last night! It's in a few people's sigs. Also, he asked me to. :p

    Edit: Wow that sounds awesome, Casper! I always love storms that make me think, "It was a dark and stormy night..."

    LOL. It's not so great when you have to climb the shed and close those hatches, though during the last storm I quite enjoyed that, suddenly. It was like Man Versus Nature. I nearly started singing old sea chanties! :D

    We used to have storms like that where I used to live in California but only in the winter. Here, we're lucky if we get one thunder storm a year.

    But it's often windy there, isn't it? Isn't the land very dry?

    Oh yeah, very dry, and very windy. All of the trees grow at a 45 degree angle.

    Hello. That must be quite odd.

    The trees of the woods here are huge. Some of them have been standing here for hundreds of years.

    Yeah, if there weren't humans in this valley there wouldn't be any trees at all probably, besides right by the river. So none of the trees are much older than 100 years, still this is a beautiful valley and a wonderful place to live... but it can be quite hellish on those super windy days.

    Extra dry please, Tom. Just wave the vermouth bottle near the gin (Bombay Sapphire, right?) in my glass & it'll be perfect.

    Rosie is watching the "Yellow Submarine" DVD I have right now. You know, the cartoon?

    She loves it!

    LOL. I was just PMing you about Yellow Submarine!

    I hired the DVD a few months back, and it bored me stupid. I couldn't watch it all the way through, no matter how hard I tried.

    Maybe I should have been drunk?

    I have seen Hard Day's Night though, and loved it.

    That's funny, because I'm not a big fan of "A Hard Day's Night".

    "Yellow Submarine" used to bore me, but suddenly I started to like it, now I love it. It has wonderful images.

    [image=http://www.cartoonresearch.com/yellow.jpg]

    Have you seen "Help"?

    A few drinks certainly can't hurt the Yellow Submarine experience. ;)

    I've loved the movie ever since I was a kid though.

    Yeah. A long time ago. It's all a bit vague.

    Seen "Give My Regards To Broad Street" too. I have no real opinion of that film, other than the music was OK, except there seemed little need for Paul to rerecord the beatles classics, and the plot was pretty average.

    Sometimes musicians are better off sticking to making music, and leaving movies to actors.

    Yes. I'm tlking to you Mr Jagger, Ms Spears et al.

    Have you guys ever seen the abomination known as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band The Movie?

    [image=http://www.yesterdayland.com/images/popopedia/shows/movies/mv1583.gif]

    It's one of those that's so bad it's good. :D

    Oh. How rude of me. I've bought you all gifts from my home country.

    Meg. Here's a Kakapo. If I got caught smuggling it out I'd have been put in jail.

    It's the world's largest parrot, it's nocturnal and flightless. New Zealand has more flightless birds than any other place on the planet. It's because the country separated from Gondwanaland prior to the evolution of mammals. So we have no native mammals here except bats and marine mammals. With no predators, other than birds of prey (no, no snakes or scorpions either), a lot of birds evolved into niches held in other places by mammals - and hence many lost their need to fly.

    Anyway here's your Kakapo - there's less than a hundred left, so be careful with him!

    [image=http://www.learnz.org.nz/2k/image/i_nestegg/kakapo.jpg] [image=http://www.bigjude.com/shepherd.gif]

    I hope Beaker doesn't get too jealous!

    You should see it at least once. It's a riot, though I'm afraid not in the way that they intended it to be.

    I'll bear it in mind next time I'm at the video store. Though I admit if I want to laugh at musicians, I prefer to watch Spinal Tap or The Osbournes. :)

    Yeah, Spinal Tap is one of my favorites, "Bad News" is another good one, but really the Bee Gees are almost just as bad. :D

    Tom. I brought you this Acoustic Guitar inlaid with Paua Shell (pronounced pa-wa). It's the NZ version of Abalone.

    [image=http://www.paua.com/pics/guitar2.jpg] [image=http://www.fretware.com/images/dots.jpg] [image=http://www.maoritreasures.com/online_store/stuff/images/paua_tif.jpg]

    Paua shell was (is) commonly used in Maori artwork;

    Hope you like it. Probably easier to look after than a Kakapo, if less expensive. ;)
