Hey everyone! This is my first post so i'm hoping this is the right place to ask my question...

I'm sure there are a lot of questions and debates about how to watch the films and it what order. I have been debating watching them in 'the machete order' - watching IV, V, II, III, VI and completely skipping I

Is it worth watching the saga in this order or are there any other suggestions and what to people prefer?

I look forward to hearing your suggestions! Thanks :)

DarthGrimmy, welcome to the Boards. We hope you have fun with us.

Never heard of "The Machete Order".

Now, if it was to not juggle with machetes, I'd say, go along with it. But that watch Episodes IV and V, and don't watch VI until after you have seen two of the Prequels idea sounds like it was suggested by Dr Seuss, and I wouldn't trust that top hat-wearing **** with anything, let alone SW.

Watch 'em in order from I to VI, or the Original Trilogy followed by the Prequel Trilogy like I did.

The Machete Order seems to complicated.

Watch IV and V, then go back to II and III, then finish off with VI? And skip I altogether?

Like Sith-I-5 said, just watch the chronologically. Or, if you float this way, IV-VI, then I-III.

Or, just IV-VI if you hate the prequels ;)

Episode 1 is necessary to the saga. If you gonna skip it, then you might as well only watch the last 20 minutes of ROTJ while your are at it...

Hi DarthGrimmy, I'm pretty new around these parts too.

I've watched the saga in machete order, it's an interesting way to see the films, although I think you can just as easily do IV & V, then I-III, and finish with VI really. For those who don't know about it, it's a web 'theory', whereby you start with the OT until Vader is revealed as Luke's father (thus keeping the surprise), then watch II & III as a flashback (jettisoning TPM as it's rubbish - not something I agree with) to see how he came to be Vader, before seeing the conclusion in ROTJ. The person who ams up with it posted a reddit post about it here.

    This is the best way.

I, IV, V,VI,II,III. This way your surprised to see Obi-Wan as an old man.
