The Titans first game is against Jacksonville... that's a tough defense, maybe they can make his leg fall off or his ribs to go through his toe or something.

 

This is a somewhat amusing topic. As we all know the cover boy of Madden games is always due to befall some mishap during the season in which they featured on, but for once I think it's found it's match. Though Young style of play is going to create more situations in which he falls to injury I think (maybe with a bit of naviety) that he'll beat the curse just like he did SC for the Championship, and beat all critics by winning plus five games last season. Young is born to defy the odds, and win with the Madden Jinx being no different.

Prediction Titans wins nine to eleven games and Madden Jinx is defeated for at least one season.

 

He should not play a single down in the pre-season, not even to just hand the ball off on one drive.

 

He's got to battle not only the Madden Jinx, but also the "sophomore slump" ... man, he's gonna stink this year.

 

QFT. The Titans have done nothing in free agency to give Vince weapons, and they let Drew Bennett, Bobby Wade, and Travis Henry leave. Throw in Pacman's suspension, and it means it's gonna be a long season here in Middle TN.

 

Why Vince Young? Why not Rex Grossman so we didn;t have to deal with him this season

 

LOL Rex Grossman. I'm surprised with all the headlines he made in last season for negative things he did that he didn't get some kind of Genius Book of World Records Plaque for quaterback most disliked by home crowd during a winning season. LOL

At least his team spent quality draft picks on the offensive side early to get him help and take some pressure of off him ... oops.

Madden 2008 is being released this week, and Vince Young of the Tennessee Titans is indeed on the cover.

It's still only the preseason, but does anybody want to guess what his (apparently inevitable) misfortune might be? Poor stats? Lingering injury? Trouble with the law? (For that matter, would Vick's current legal woes be considered part of the Madden Curse?)

What if he landed on the cover of Sports Illustrated as well?? Would that double his chances for disaster?

What do you guys think??

 

I'm a fan of the curse of the Polo Grounds, myself. The Giants will never win a championship in San Francisco.

 

While I'm from the Bay Area, I've never heard of that curse before (I'm an A's fan.)

How would the Giants break that curse? Move back to New York?

 

I actually think Curses work like multiplying negative numbers. You put two of them together, and you get a positive. So, Vince Young needs to get himself on the cover of SI to avoid the Madden Curse, or at least minimize it (injury will take him out only half a season)

Considering the problems my team (Raiders) is having getting JaMarcus Russell to sign, I'm beginning to think HE should have been put on the Madden cover this year.
