The Matrix: Reloaded to hit IMAX in the Springs

Cinemark in C. Springs has confirmed that the Matrix: Reloaded will be shown on their IMAX screen beginning June 6.

This is the same theatre that hosted the Clones IMAX showings last year.

The oh-so less-than-helpful folks at Regal Entertainment (formerly United Artists) would only comment that they "don't think that their IMAX will be showing the Matrix sequel".

Should be very interesting, as this marks the first time that a film has been released simultaneously in its regular theatrical(35mm) format as well as in IMAX proportions (15/70mm).

That's because they still will not pay the livcensing fee to host an IMAX branded film. So, unless they relese it in a generic 70mm cut, they are not allowed to have the film (fragggin' cheap hutt slime! )

 

Look at it this way... we could organize another road trip party down to the Springs later on to see it on IMAX.

It's coming out in regular theaters May 15th so it's on IMAX a couple of weeks later, I still will probably want to see it again in IMAX.

The third film, out later this year, will be released simutaneously in IMAX and in regular theaters.

 

did they say how long they will have it at the IMAX?
