The Milton Keynes FanForce Chapter thread

It was about time the greatest city on the planet got its own FanForce Chapter, hence me starting this thread And before anyone else corrects me, yes I know Milton Keynes isn't a city but why let a few facts stand in the way...

Anyhows, the idea is to organise our own Milton Keynes Chapter here at FanForce. This is by its nature mainly targeted at people who are also readers/subscribers to Delta Source, although all will be welcome

We hope to get our Chapter set up by the end of the year and in that endeavour have our first meet this weekend...in London... I promise there will be MK meets as well and other places including the NEC in Birmingham for Memorabilia.

Please post here if you're interested in joining the MK Chapter or want to join us for our meet-up this Saturday.

Have you let Jamie, Derek and Jason know about it?

What plans have you for the next few issues of DS? I am writing some fiction for it, but the going is slow as I am (supposedly) concentrating on my CeMAP Bridges studies. I plan to take the exam before the end of the year.

Does LV know about the meet on Saturday? Jane has suggested the Geological museam, and I would not mind visiting the Natural History museam.

The next few issues...well, I've got the current one to get out first!! After that, the next one will be the Xmas Special (if I get time), then the first of 2003 will be a feature on Tarkin and Pellaeon followed by a Return of the Jedi retrospective in Spring 2003.

I am not looking much beyond that at the moment!

Yeah, I like the ideas for Saturday - we'll just do whatever the majority want too on the day.

 

Can I join the Milton Keynes Chapter, even though I live nowhere near MK? In fact, I've never been there! (Sheltered life, you see). Can't make Saturday, but am up for any future London gigs - or even those in MK!

Where in the country are you? We sometimes meet in London, but also at a Sci Fi fair in Reading.

I think I might be going with Mark to the NEC in Birmingham in November.

In other news;

I spent some time recently looking back at my collection of SW Galaxy magazines. Althought I mourn the loss of SW Gamer, SW Galaxy set the standard for everything a magazine should be. Once I have finished myfiction story fo DS, should I do a review of Galaxy for the fanzine? Did anyone else read Galaxy?

If you did please PM me with any opinions you have of the publication and I will see if I can include them.

have you tried looking on they're web page?

 

The National History Museum on Cromwell Road, SW7. The Geological Museum is part and parcel of the NHM.
