Karin asked with obvious annoyance.
It felt like his gut was going to incinerate if he didn?t run of to that hangar right now!

 

Garrick salutes promptly

Yes Sir

He glances at Feron with minor annoyance, wondering what is making this trip so urgent all of a sudden

All: "Yes, you are dismissed."

 

Glances at the general with mild contempt, and follows the others.

 

Standing up to follow orders he really wanted to protest.

Why are they sending an outstanding pilot like me on a recon mission? I would be better off with my squad.

 

Garrick will leave the office, swing by his quarters to pack his kit, and then report to the freighters ramp in Home One's main hangar.

Karin could barely wait for the dismissal.
He jumped to his feet, and strode out of the office quickly.
He kept up the quick pace, barely resisting the urge to run, and than stoped suddenly.
My gear?
He ran to his quarters, picked up his stuff, and continued to the hangar.

 

All: Col. Tamms was a small human, but the fire in her eyes was not to be dismissed. She had a worn blue flight suit on. She compleated the illusion of a smuggler with an overpowered blaster at her side and a vest with a few scorch marks. She was leaning against the landing gear of a small freighter, the Hybred Illusion. The condition of this ship makes the Falcon look like a space yatch.

 

After returning to his quarters to gather his gear. He entered the hanger. Seeing the woman leaning against the freighter he walked briskly to her. Dropping his duffel, he saluted with his right hand.

"Col. Tamms, Lt. Rayf Haken, Blue Squadron. I was told to report to you."

He stood at rigid attention in front of the smuggler.

 

Garrick gives a more laconic salute than Rayf

Hi, Colonel Tamms, I'm Lt. Garrick Ralter. Uh, request permission to board?

I'm making a WIS check to see if I recognise the type of freighter from my youth working the family shipping business.


I rolled an 18 + 2= 20

Garrick, when and if granted permission to board, will stow his gear and take the copilot's seat, running a preflight - firing up power converters, bringing nav, shield, comm and weapons systems online, and the like

Deak:"Nice to meet you Rayf. Stow your gear, we are leaving as soon as the rest of them arrive."

Ender: "No permission needed, I don't run as tight a ship as most around here. Nice to meet you Garric."
You recognise it as a modified Citadel-class cruiser. The fighter mounts have been removed, replaced with escape pods. The bottom center wing has been hacked down to half-size, as have the two outer top wings (p.79 Starships of the Galaxy)

 

This is a Citadel class ship, right? I flew one of these once - from our family station to a deep space storage site. You mind if I run a pre-flight Captain?

Ender: "Sure, go ahead. Just don't bring the hyperdrive online yet, it's working off backup circuts, don't want to overload it."

 

As he entered the hangar he immediately noticed the team, standing by a ship.
Karin?s knowledge of ships was far worse than average, but even he knew that that ship was a piece of junk.
He couldn?t help but smile at the sight of the trash can.
He strode to the ship to meet the team.

Lt. Feron Antilles reporting for duty, sir!

 

CH: "Welcome Feron, nice to meet you."

 

Garrick will run all the preflight system checks and diagnostics

Ignores the rest of his comrades and takes a seat towards the back of the ship. Eager to get on with this mission, he sits.

 

Karin was very excited.
Skywalker might help him find this? Kenobi.
He always thought he would be hunted down by the Empire if he used his gift.
But if Kenobi was able to stay hidden, then so could Karin.

With a grin to the group, he boarded the ship.

 

All: All the cargo is loaded, and you are all on board. Tamms heads up to the bridge and the ship is launched. Much to your suprise, the ship jumps to lightspeed without any problems. "Thanks Garrick, I am gonna go catch up on some sleep, wake me at five till drop out." She gets up and goes to her cabbin, locking the door once she is inside.

Charater interaction time.

 

Garrick comms Rayf to the bridge; when he gets there, Garrick will close the door behind them.

Hey, Rayf, what do you make of all this?

He toggles a few switches as he's talking; mainly powering down the weapons and running an inertial compensator self-check.

I mean, we all meet on Home One, get assigned together on a mission to find Commander Skywalker and Captain Solo, the two Rebels the Imps are just itchin to bag. What gives?

Karin was standing in a hallway, staring through the window.
He finally got the time to think about all of this.

Perhaps, the three of us? Skywalker, Kenobi and I, could make some real damage to the Empire.
Perhaps three Jedi are enough to bring down the Empire.
But I don?t know anything about this Kenobi fellow.
Maybe he isn?t even interested in fighting the Empire.
Maybe he doesn?t even want to train me.
I can just hope for the best.

He finished his thought, and went for the cockpit.

When will we get there?

 

Oh, hey Feron... Let's see... Around 12 hours maybe, if my calculations are correct.

All: I assume you will pass the time with idle chit-chat, eating, drinking, and sleeping. About 8 hours into the 12 hour flight, an alarm goes off. Seconds later, the ship lurches, thrown back into realspace. If any of you are near the engine room, you hear a sharp poping sound and smell the tang of hyperdrive coolent.
